Will it be like Icky so you get the actual record? Or will it be like the other ones where you get some throwaways and not even a fresh pressing.AW124797 said:0 -
I remember buying Elephant when it came out and didn't care for it. That whole wave of new music that I love now I wasn't into back then. I was still into angry music, lol. I tried Black Rebel Motorcycle club, The Strokes, Hot Hot Heat and others and it didn't move the needle.0

I absolutely loved Elephant when it came out. I remember buying it on release day and taking it home that afternoon and had it on my turntable for days. Ball and Biscuit was one of my favourites. Then I heard the US was on red and white vinyl and got my local shop to import that as well which wasn't cheap. Im going to say it was about £20-25. It was the first time I had variants of the same record. Still have the US pressing but I sold the UK copy years later but wish I hadn't, preferred that sleeve.tempo_n_groove said:I remember buying Elephant when it came out and didn't care for it. Just when you hope for a break, the Vault pulls you back in. I'll be perfectly honest and say its probably more than I want to spend but I just can't resist a White Stripes record. It will be interesting to hear this in mono and cant let the White Stripes 7" collection slip.AW124797 said:Elephant XX is next.Post edited by FR181798 on0 -

I had an original Sympathy for the Record Industry copy of De Stijl and got rid because I had an XL copy. Bit of a mistake that. I've done a few stupid things like that but slowly learned.tempo_n_groove said:

Just an idea I had, but I feel like JW should sell little disposable cameras at his shows. Limit one per customer, no flash, and each camera would hold like 5 or so shots. I honestly don’t take too many pictures at shows. Typically I will just snap a few shots without even thinking about it in hopes that maybe I’ll get 1 or 2 nice ones and I never take video. I would of liked to take a few pics at his shows I had attended last year but since they lock up your phone…maybe this could be a little bit of a compromise. The artist can make some money off the camera sales and it would give a chance for a fan to maybe have a nice memory to share.

he does actually have a pro photographer take pics and then you can download them off his website for free.Hi! said:Just an idea I had, but I feel like JW should sell little disposable cameras at his shows. That’s true. They passed out postcards at the shows with the info where you could download the photos from that particular show. So that’s cool. I had some amazing vantage points though, would of made for some good photos, lol.HughFreakingDillon said:

it is a good idea. But I have to admit, I freaking LOVED the show with no one holding anything up. And I'm guilty of it here and there too. I love having a visual memento of the show.Hi! said:

Right. It is hard to find a happy medium with people and their cameras sometimes. Nice to get a break from it once in awhile…HughFreakingDillon said:

It's definitely nice. I will take a pic every so often but some people are just stupid with trying to video everything. It looks like shit, sounds like shit and annoys the fuck out of people.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

especially when taking video. why take a 30 second video of a 4 minute song? for me it would be all or none. I took a full video of Burton Cummings two weeks ago doing an acoustic/lounge/swing version of American Woman, but I held my phone against my chest so the light wouldn't bother anyone. Got the audio. the video would have been shit anyway.Gern Blansten said:It's definitely nice. I will take a pic every so often but some people are just stupid with trying to video everything. I guess after Elephant the only album left to get the vault treatment will be GBMS. They've done Icky Thump X already that came in that crazy huge box.0

I feel the box was just too big though, soft touch so you want it in a sleeve but the size and shape was just awkward. Give me a nice gatefold any day of the week.mrussel1 said:
