managers in general are hugely overrated...same with basketball and football coaches.

is bobby cox in the HOF without his starting pitching?

    is TLR there without steroids?

is joe torre there without steroids and a huge payroll?

is phil jackson the second coming of christ without MJ, shaq and kobe?

the best baseball managing I can remember was bruce bochy and how he got underdog Giants teams to 3 rings. he truly did push all the right buttons in those runs. but, as you mentioned, I'm not sure "hunches" and "gut feelings" are even allowed anymore, in this age of analytics.

With the Mets possibly losing half the team to free agency. They won't be able to sign all their good players. Scherzer might be done as a great pitcher or probably won't play the whole season. deGrom might leave. This might move the Marlins up the standings.

Don’t forget this is a new era. The Mets have more money than anyone else. Cohen will spend his way to 90 wins a year.

He wasn't the manager. Torre was thrown out. And that was an honest mistake. Barely left the mound.

I have some baseball cards. Tried to get the Topps 2020 project cards. Missed the first 2. A couple of Topps Now. The bobblehead from last year.

Cool. Most of the P20 cards were really nice.
I didn’t get them all but I picked up 3 or 4 autographed copies from the Mattingly Charities eBay page.

I was hoping for the Angels but they gave Nevin an extension or the White Sox.

You knew it was going to be a Yankee bench coach!

(Actually Zimm is a good choice just based on that whole fighting Pedro fiasco)
The love he receives is the love that is saved
