Oh and I do LOVE that song too. The second part, much like Orion, is my favorite part and how it creeps in to Dyers eve.0 -
This scene from the Dirty Dozen a favorite of mine....

Donald Sutherland was hilarious in this movie and even better in Kelly's Heroes.

Another favorite, this one from Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band. I'm not sure what input Van Vliet had on this number other than to instruct guitarists Jeff Moris Tepper and Gary Lucas to put heavy gauge strings on their guitars, but the order was carried out to good effect: "Semi-Multicoloured Caucasian:

love this. sounds like a great song for a sports team to use. unless that would be considered appropriation, given the obvious indigenous overtone.

Metallica's Orion and call of the ktulu were the first ones that popped in my mind. Also whale and wasp by AiC. I'll have to get back to this thread later.

......And now on to the latter half of my DIRTY DOZEN.
7. It's More Fun To Compute/Numb3rs.....
KRAFTWERK....
This German quartet who were recently inducted in the RRHOF. They were pioneers in electronic futuristic music that to me still resonates with me today. I can recall djing Numbers at parties back in school and people would ask, who is that?https://youtu.be/_CLnpjvbXEg

8. School Days/East River Drive....On this tune (SD) Stanley Clake shows off his bass slapping skills released over 40 years ago.

9. FOR MOM....BUCKETHEAD.......Just one cool Grove that I once played for my mother and she approved.https://youtu.be/dwB7uB-rVf0
10. Love Is The Message...MFSB ....Back in the day when I'd spin this 11 minute track people would hit the dance floor. That is the one's who knew how to dance the disco hustle. An old school classic, love to air drum 🥁 to this..https://youtu.be/AbsZC257JP8
11. City, Country, City/Smile Happy....WAR ...Classic old school jams to listen to while sipping or toking on something strong.https://youtu.be/jp6YN1llpiY

No love for Green Onions by Booker T and the MGs? How about Rumble by Link Wray, the conception of metal??

I listened to the entire Peter Green album tonight and I would list the whole thing as one my favorite instrumental albums, maybe even my top favorite. It's an album people tend to either love (like I do) or dismiss. Here's one of my favorite cuts, but I really recommend the whole album:(sorry, the video cuts in just a hair too soon):Sorry... another fav, same album:

Buckethead. I forgot about that guy. His stuff is so far out there. He's too good, lol. I tried getting into his stuff but just didn't like it.0

Yes Stuart and Stanley were jamming on School Days. I love percussionists Neil Peart my favorite but Stuart's style is amazing. He handles his sticks like a jazz player and he can smack a snare drum with precision POWER. Something Neil would say, play with power on the skins.
