The remake is like a run-of-the-mill scandinavian crime thriller of the week. But with nice cinematography and with a pretentious running time.ikiT said:HughFreakingDillon said:
I echo the "it's helpful" sentiment.
The 1982 OG is good, but I prefer the redux version without the Deckert narration and the better ending.
Look for the "final cut" from 2007.
The pace of 2049 is pretty slow.
And regarding what cut to watch. I think one should always start with the original cut. As a rule.
Maybe it should be broken for BR. I don’t remember the cuts or the movie good enough. I only know Ford and Scott have different views on if he is a replicant or not.Post edited by Spiritual_Chaos on"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
The Batman with Twilight Guy. It was ok. didn't like how they fucked with the Wayne Family murder origin story.
Maybe it's the fact I think you simply cannot follow Heath Leger's Joker. That Batman movie will never be topped because of that in my eyes.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -

apparently my opinion on it isn't popular. I told my movie nerd buddy two nights ago that I had to shut it off halfway through as I was bored out of my mind. I chose to finish it last night, but still...I still wouldn't put it on a pedestal like a lot of other people seem to.ikiT said:

I told the same thing to another movie nerd buddy and he gave me the same reaction. I suppose it's a big deal since it was a big inspiration for the genre and moviemakers moving forward, and that's fine, but as a stand alone piece on its own, I found it "meh".Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
In that case, skip Blade Runner 2049.HughFreakingDillon said:

yeah, buddy #1 said the same thing. But I think I'll give it a shot anyway. I don't think the slower pace was the only issue; it was how dated it was, the overbearing synths of the soundtrack during odd points in the movie. I don't mind slow pacing movies or shows on their own.Poncier said:
