    I’m more worried it’s because they are convinced a recession is imminent and demand is about to tank.

    Helping Russia/hurting democrats is possible too as in the short term prices are absolutely going up. Maybe that’s just an added benefit

    To me that’s the bellwether if it’s going to be a wipeout across the board

    Yes foreign policy is under the purview of the executive branch, but in the case of foreign nations wanting to influence US elections so as to limit the power of unfriendly Executives and install more friendlies at the legislative level - some of whom could go on to future executive positions- I think that OPEC+ nations and business partners have a good reason to help bring about "illiberal democracy" in the USA. And of course their strongest lever of power is influencing energy prices.

    Generally dividing us is a goal right there. Tipping the scales one way or another does help, surely 

    chaos, non functioning government etc is just as advantageous as putting your person in power 

    minus Trump’s stance on NATO I would say Russia benefitted mostly on the lowered standing of the US. We looked awful on the world stage. Russia comparatively improved their own standing as they aren’t the main dumpster fire 

    domestically in Russia or China it plays well if you can point to a failing democracy. People don’t then want one to some extent or at least that’s the hope

    Yeah, for sure.  The "predictions" are just too dicey.

    Helping Russia/hurting democrats is possible too as in the short term prices are absolutely going up. Maybe that’s just an added benefit

    If Walker wins we’ll know. Georgia polls close before a lot of states. 

    To me that’s the bellwether if it’s going to be a wipeout across the board 

    If Hershel Walker wins I will do one of two thing:
    -Laugh cynically
    -Puke massively 
    Impress us and do both. At the same time.
