question @ikiT do you need to watch the original to see this? I've wanted to watch this one but have never seen the OG
I echo the "it's helpful" sentiment.
The 1982 OG is good, but I prefer the redux version without the Deckert narration and the better ending. Look for the "final cut" from 2007.
The pace of 2049 is pretty slow.
The remake is like a run-of-the-mill scandinavian crime thriller of the week. But with nice cinematography and with a pretentious running time.
And regarding what cut to watch. I think one should always start with the original cut. As a rule.
Maybe it should be broken for BR. I don’t remember the cuts or the movie good enough. I only know Ford and Scott have different views on if he is a replicant or not.

Maybe it's the fact I think you simply cannot follow Heath Leger's Joker. That Batman movie will never be topped because of that in my eyes.
