Fun show. Not as good as Hamilton but still fun.

Personal highlight - I was sitting by the side of the stage, Stone side, about 10 rows up wearing my TAD t-shirt (love me some Tad!). During Dissident, Eddie looked over to our side of the stage and during a breath between verses, saw the shirt, looked at me and said "Tad!" (he gestured to his own shirt to make sure I knew what he was doing). He *might* have changed the next line to "escape is never the safest Tad" because he pointed in my direction as he sang it, but I can't really tell. So that was cool.

During "Alive" I was smiling so broadly I was crying. I love this band.

Yesterday was my first "All Those Yesterdays" since my very first show (June 30, 1998). It was also my third "Sometimes," I think, and I think it was my first in 22 years, which...I mean, it's wild that I can say things like this.

Anyway, I'm at 46 shows now, so I feel relatively qualified to offer opinions on things like "I can't remember the band sounding this good, ever." But I can't remember the band sounding this good - ever. Ed's voice was immaculate at the three shows I attended, and Matt's on another level lately - he's expanded his kit and he's using it to its fullest.

Oh, and the Gord Downie love was heart-wrending. I miss that magnificent bastard.

Thank you, John for the set list & notes.

hey @sea, you should add that Daughter was tagged with one verse of Gord Downie's Safe Is Dead. Another astute member pointed it out in the setlist relay thread. I watched the video and he's right.

  • So happy I got to this show. I was left wanting way more after Hamilton. Specifically more crowd energy, thought the band was awesome, setlist was fun in The Hammer, but crowd was flat. Then combine that with Toronto and I'm fulfilled. Was gutted to see Unthought Known replaced and I felt the momentum lost a little with the Leash confusion (buddy met the band in the hotel after the show and said Stone broke a string and changing instruments around was difficult so they scrambled into Alive). Would love to see a second encore like in 2016 but respect to the band all the same.
Love this band...always surreal watching them and trying to believe I'm hearing it live...they are sooooo good...Sad to see the end of this week...

Amazing show!  Second time seeing the band in concert and I love the diversity of the setlists.  Huge U2 fan and every tour you get the same setlist with maybe 2-3 song changes but with Pearl Jam its different every night.  Really feel the songs from Gigaton fit so well into the concert and it't not like other artists where this is the time to go for a bathroom break.  Highlights for me was Corduroy, I Got Shit, Dissident and the 3 second tease of Leash..... DAMN!

    Well pointed out, thanks.

They played nearly the whole thing because there was a problem with one of the light rigs.  It dropped suddenly and swung around when all were being lowered as they we're about to walk on.  Could see crew making sure was safe before proceeding.  That one rig didn't work/wasn't used all show (Stone's side of Matt).

  • Went to all four Canadian dates.  Each show was amazing in it's own way but this one was my favourite of all of them.

Had a great time at this show.  My first time in GA after going to shows for the past 24 years did not disappoint.  If anyone has an extra poster the want to sell (or knows how to get one).  let me know

Hamilton/Toronto was the best 1-2 punch I've ever seen.  Can't wait to listen the boots back to back........Black/Jeremy,  Porch/Even Flow, Retrograde/River Cross, Inside job/ Come Back, Red Mosquito/ Hail Hail................felt very much like sister shows.

Agreed.  My 3 show stretch with Ott, Ham & TO really felt complete.  They went together but each unique in there own.  Not hearing Porch, Betterman, Even Flow, Small Town all 3 times, few covers and most of Gigaton...pretty much all I'd hoped for.

Man, what a night! This was my only show so I had nothing to compare it to, and it was worth the over 2 year wait (though 2020 would’ve been fun in a different way because of the new songs, lol)! Still processing it and can’t wait for the bootleg!

The sit down opener for the band was cool and I really appreciated Ed doing Her Majesty. A nice tribute that was quick enough to avoid giving the anti-monarchists a chance to complain, lol.

Then they started full-on rocking and kicked my ass, lol! Got 2 of the 3 Gigaton songs I’d been hoping for, and Light Years really hit home having been to a funeral the day before (that was a beautiful moment in 2016 when Ed asked us to invite someone we missed into the room and I quietly did so again).

The encore’s pacing was maybe a bit odd but I still enjoyed it (even if Leash did get scratched, lol), I don’t have a dislike of Rockin’ so it was fun.

Didn’t Jeff and Josh trade off on the bass midsong?

I’ll close with a thanks to everyone involved (from the band and the crew and venue to the fans) for making the inadvertent 2 year wait worth it!

We had a wonderful time in Toronto. Thanks for mentioning Halifax, Nova Scotia, twice! :)

Would of been cool if Leash went again but all good. River Cross was finally played live. That was a treat.

  • Both Ottawa and Toronto shows were out of this world, and complementary.  Hilites : YLB, dissident, rearviewmirror, Jeremy and the tributes were super. Please be back sooner than 3 years!!!!

I watched a few YouTube recordings of the night and yes, Josh took over for Jeff midsong.  So many things I didn’t see from
the back 😆cheers to anyone who has posted videos to YouTube, I always need to relive these concerts post show as I’m so wound up during the show I nearly forget everything!

Only one Porch and Evenflow too. No Betterman and Small Town at all on back to back shows was a surprise as well

Toronto had the best sound of the three shows I saw (Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto) and the crowd was positively electric!

It also had some oddities ... The band biffed "Leash" and pushed through Alive and RITFW, cutting the show short by a couple songs ... And no intro of Boom or Pluralone. I also noticed Stone wearing a mask for both Hamilton and this show. Hopefully he's doing well!

I was really interested go hear Ed talk about not playing Vancouver due to the border crossing. I know it was a nightmare for them in 2013, but hoping they'll "come back!" ... That song was also a highlight for me, as was Dissident, Rockin', and Light Years. Another highlight was Mike heading off stage to play for the front row. Epic!!
I've been a Pearl Jam fan since I was 13 and first heard Ament's opening to Jeremy on the radio. To this day, Pearl Jam continues to inspire and challenge me to not just be better, but to be great.
