    I can only guess at how strange it must feel to have a major figure like Queen Elizabeth pass on.  She was part of the fabric of your part of the word for so long.  So much so that I cannot remember a time when she wasn't the Queen.  That happened when I was 6 months and 1 day old!

    Say no to monarchies. Including the Swedish. And say no to colonolism. But obviously end of an era. Lived a long life. My mom is very sad over this, "She's been here all my life. Some things should never change". 

    Just this weekend walked passed this poster at a Photography exhibition in Stockholm. Took me a moment before reaching the conclusion that it is a fake/stand in.

    Yes, she can be queen consort/ queen. Elizabeth said that that was her wish.

    Apparently Philip couldn’t be king because of a “longstanding rule in the royal family which decrees that a man who marries a reigning queen will only be referred to as a Prince Consort.”

    Officially she is Queen Consort, which indicates she married into the monarchy and has no blood claim to the throne. She'll be referred to as queen though, since her status is tied to Charles. When Charles passes, she will become Queen Dowager and Kate will be Queen Consort when William ascends to the throne.

    Philip was technically a King Consort, but it's customary for him to retain the Prince title in order to show the queen's authority.
