    Hi all,

It's been a little while, but I thought I'd share a random little EP that I released last weekend. It'll be on Apple Music, Spotify, etc in the next several days, but it's on Bandcamp now. Here's the info:

I have been working on my upcoming solo album for a (very) long time, It's close to being done, but I wanted to do something different.

I had the idea this morning (7/16/22) to record a spontaneous EP on my iPhone and release it. I thought it would take a couple of days to come up with a few songs, but it took an hour or 2....after that, I kept recording the ideas, but will save them for later.

This EP is spontaneous...no edits, no overdubs, and very real. It was recording in our kitchen here in KCMO, hence the name of the album. The intro is a little thing that I play on the Uke all the time...the rest were written today. Hope you all enjoy it!

PURCHASED. looking forward to listening to this today Matt
Thanks, man! I hope you enjoy it. This little project has opened the flood gates and I can't seem to stop writing. Hope to do another release like this before the solo album is released.

I gather track 1 is an homage to a certain someone's second solo album?  ;)

Thanks! It was really crazy how it all came together. The track listing is simply the order that I wrote them...no thought given to it at all.

Someone else said that as well - in all honesty, I've only listened to Uke Songs once or twice, and it's been quite some time since I've listened to it. That track is an abbreviated version of something I've tinkered around with for years on the uke that's hanging in our living room. It wouldn't surprise me at all if it sounds like EV, though. He's had a huge influence on my music & that riff/progression may have stuck somewhere in my brain. What song does it sound like?

    Glad you like it!

Just listened to the intro of Satellite....slight similarity, but his song sounds much more complex! Ha!

well, he also spent a decade fine tuning it I'm guessing. you wrote and recorded it in one day. that's something.

That song is a little thing that I'd been plucking on the Uke for a year or so & it's a lot longer than what I recorded. (all of the other songs were written that day in the order that they appear)

I just thought it would be a fun was to open up the EP with an abbreviated version, so I recorded that first. I also intentionally ended the song on C because I had the chord idea for song #2 (Wheels) that starts on C. Ok---enough of me being a music nerd. Just glad it's out there and that people are enjoying it.

    Hi all,

I listened to our second album, Life Can Go, for the first time in a long time today. Wow! It still holds up and brought back a ton of memories. It also got me really excited that Chris and I are wrapping up our 4th album. Beyond that, I can’t wait to start working on new songs again!

What’s your favorite song from this album?

    Have a great weekend,
    Matt

Big shout out to my sister, Maura for her amazing artwork!!!

    Hey all!

Came across this Pink Floyd cover I did back in 2011 while looking for old Cluthe/Lee music. Thought I’d share!
Matt and I recently talked about putting out a bunch of songs that didn’t make any of the 4 albums we have done. Rediscovered 5 hours worth of stuff and have started labeling and organizing. 4th album is coming, hang tight!

Exciting update, Matt and I have been working on mining the external HDs to build a collection of music we've done that didn't get an official release.  Our own "Lost Dogs" if you will! So far we have thirty songs spread across three volumes that we'll be working on releasing digitally in the coming months. There's even some live songs included, fun!! I have enjoyed going back and listening to some 100+ songs in various states that we've recorded since fall 2009. Even found a song that Matt liked so much he and I decided it will go on our TBD fourth album. God, can't wait to share that and these 'Bends, Odds & Ends' with you after all this long, long time! Much love to you all for your support over the last 13+ years!

    Chris-

Update, our three volumes of b-sides/alt takes/live performances has yielded a song we are looking at putting on our 4th 4thcoming record. Excited about the song cos’ it’s one I wrote fairly completely (minus vocals and lyrics and mandolin). Looking into copyright for the volume 1 and all will likely be digital only releases. Hang in there all - we have a lot left to share and more new music to begin writing together once it’s all seen through.

Thank you!! This EP is definitely related to Father's Day. I included a link to an article in the album description that was written about our family. I might as well post it here as well:

Album #4 track list is 99% finalized. Just a few more songs to green light and then we're onto track sequence, art and then release! I'm listening to the mixes this morning and just love these songs. So proud of the work that went into them! Matt told me one of the songs is nearly 20 years old and I am just so grateful we could work together to give it a final place to land.
