So I wonder how you would feel about a math problem involving a political topic that you hold a different opinion on? Cause that's how I was trying to look at it. Then again, as I said, if I wasn't specifically looking for it I might not have noticed at all.Halifax2TheMax said:
So, are kids going to turn gay or feel guilty of their race because of a math word problem? And is that the “agenda?”TJ25487 said:

Were they textbooks? Or were they “worksheets?” I ask because Tejas, as a state with one of the largest purchaser’s of public school textbooks, has an inordinate amount of influence as it relates to textbook content, with a rigorous review process in place, and that influences what text books are purchased and what their content is throughout ‘Murica.cincybearcat said:

You think any dem can appeal to cons? And what is “taught in school?” CRT? Finish line? Turning your kids gay and eliminating the white race. Cons ain’t Joe’s audience.cincybearcat said:
For the other cultural issues I was referring mostly to the gender and sexuality debate and the "what's taught in school" type stuff. Meaning these are some of the issues I see as to why some conservatives have a hard time voting for Joe and Dems. And not as hard a line as you think...usually fine with lots of progress in those places, but also wonders where that finish line is. Just my assessment from the people I know, could be off base.Halifax2TheMax said:“Some other cultural issues.”
What’s virtual signaling again? Lil help here.
And shit...I forgot Guns....not sure how I forgot that issue. Way too many conservatives have been scared into thinking common sense laws are an infringement on their rights and can't get past it.
Have you looked at some of the questions in those math textbooks? They were clearly there to drive an agenda, and it wasn't math. For the most part I think people complaining about that are out of line and taking it too far, but there are clear examples for me that are driving a political agenda through a freakin math problem. It's probably a really small % but I hate that it gave any credibility to the complaint.
While you view it as “driving an agenda,” I view it as just more lame faux outrage to rally the masses. Like some kid is going to decide they’re gay or feel guilty about their race because of a math word problem. How do you drive an agenda with a small %?hippiemom = goodness0 -

You mean like, “ if 300 BLM’ers storm the west side of the Capitol in a stack formation at 9:03 am and 400 Antiiiiiif’ers storm the east side of the Capitol in disarray at 9:10 am, what time would they meet in the rotunda? How do you drive an agenda with a small % you ask? By starting off small and then slowly increasing it. It's called desensitizing.Halifax2TheMax said:
Were they textbooks? Or were they “worksheets?” I ask because Tejas, as a state with one of the largest purchaser’s of public school textbooks, has an inordinate amount of influence as it relates to textbook content, with a rigorous review process in place, and that influences what text books are purchased and what their content is throughout ‘Murica.cincybearcat said:
Vs trump I do think so. I have been far more republican than democrat in my life...and I voted for Hillary and Biden. So I do think it's possible.Halifax2TheMax said:
How do you drive an agenda with a small %?
No that won't turn them gay but it would be a good tool for a teacher to use if they wanted to groom them into it.0 -
