    great. so let's just let this go, forget it ever happened, and then embolden the next person who will no doubt be smarter and more craven than trump.
    A lot of the guardrails in place are based on the assumption no one would try the kind of stuff he did. We don’t have any way to prevent it now or ever if someone decides they don’t care.

    Fundamentally even if trump is in jail, the next person can do the exact same thing. He showed norms are just suggestions.  A sitting president can do whatever they want as long as congress won’t remove you
