I ended up skipping RSD this morning.   They didn't get most of what I wanted in.  I didn't feel like getting up early and waiting in line for the 2 or 3 records they did.

I guess the big miss was the ramones boxset.  My local store posted that lots of stuff never arrived, and lots of stuff they only got 2 copies.   The Ramones boxsets never arrived.

I both love RSD and loathe RSD.   It's cool these limited releases come out, but it's such a pain in the ass to get them :(

Got there before 6am which is usually good for third or fourth in line.   I underestimated the power of Taylor Swift.

I was #10 but about 8 people ahead of me had on Swift shirts and had been there since 3am.   Within minutes of me arriving a caravan of Taylor Swift fans showed up.   And they kept on arriving.   The store only had 10 copies of her release so definitely a lot of disappointed folks I’m sure.

    I ended up with:

    Kirk Hammett - Portals (incredible)
    Taylor Swift
    Mingus - The Lost Album

    Looking for:
    Kittie - Spit
    Pixies - Coachella

Highly recommend the Kirk Hammett EP if you’re even remotely into Metallica.

So much better than anything Metallica has released in a few decades to my ears

I picked up the RSD releases of Alice in Chains, Pixies and the Vince G. Trio Charlie Brown 7" for myself, and snagged a couple of the RHCP releases for other people.

Stones and foos. Love that Stones record, I've said it before. Old dude with stories not many care to hear. I picked up a cut out promo of this stones in the early 80s from a record stand at a flea market in my Catholic elementary school. No such thing as rsd back then. Records and tapes. No cds. Nothing.
Now a GID version. Killer. Everything/nothing has changed.
    Have fun all!

What I don't understand is, with something they know will sell out (like a Ramones box set!), why don't they make more of them?  Seems like an odd way to do business, no?

    Scored:

Willie Nelson - Live at the Texas Opry
    Jazz Dispensary- Super Skunk
Betty Harris - Lost Queen of New Orleans Soul

Lastly, grab a very nice original pressing of Joni Mitchell - Blue for the wife. Was the first time I’ve found a copy of this in the wild.

Overall, fairly subdued RSD at the places I went to. First stop, I got there 30 minutes before open and was sixth in line. Was in and out in under 5 minutes.
