    It's the artist's choice. Ed (not the Earthlings) chose to allow Live Nation to implement Platinum pricing.
    Yea. But those are stadiums. So probably less likely there will be platinum tickets. Eventually those prices come down.
    It's basically to give someone a better chance to get tickets you most likely won't get if it was at regular price. And it's hard to resell those tickets for a higher price

    I have first-hand knowledge of the industry... can confirm that platinum tickets, dynamic pricing, resale, etc. are opt-in. 

    That said, it's usually the artist's agent/promoter that signs off on it.

    The weird thing is, he had to reschedule, and I got a new appointment right away. Wasn't told I'd need to reschedule, and then forced to wait a few weeks before finding when the new appointment was.

    Wingate by Wyndham Kanata West Ottawa is forcing a two night stay for that rumoured date for Sep 3. No other Saturday in August or September has that applied to it. Could be nothing but likely something there being the only hotel thats fairly close to the venue.

    Might also be because it’s Labour Day weekend and they are next door to an massive outlet mall.
