    Sounds like you need a preamp. Did you hook it into the "phono" input of the downstairs unit?

    I have to admit it’s not mine either… but dad’s voice is always in my head seemingly 😂
    I think it is almost like a patience “muscle” that I have to keep flexing or else, let’s face it, I would be an infuriating complainer to those around me.

    The last few years of buying records has beaten the impatience out of me. I used to obsessively track shipments and get angry when other people were getting theirs before me. Now I (mostly) just don’t give a shit and am often surprised when I come home to find a vinyl mailer on my porch.

    It sounds pretty good I think. I could use some new speakers.

    Is there a large impact on sound in the type of receiver? Does a Preamp alleviate some of that need?

    I have a different older receiver in the basement, I could switch to that, but those speakers suck too.
