Has he addressed the protesters? Yes. I don't think he was very diplomatic, but yes he did. He shared with us what he thought. He stated he would not budge on his position. And that's that. Ball is now in the protesters court.
Perhaps this protest is a way to put pressure on him, but I have to be honest, if I was him, I would be doing exactly what he is.
What does he have to gain by repeating himself? What does he have to gain by even commenting publicly about it?
By staying quiet, he is allowing these protesters to do exactly what I believe he anticipated they would do, make themselves look moronic, disrespectful, and completely UN-patriotic. Any politician who put their neck on the line supporting this will have to wear that like a badge of dishonour for years to come and Trudeau won't forget it at election time.
Please do not forget... this country JUST had a federal election. The Liberals made it very clear that they were pro vaccine and pro doing whatever was needed to end the pandemic. Full stop. They stayed in power. Full stop. These convoy organizers and supporters wanting a 'vote of no confidence' please tell me... what was the federal election exactly? THIS. THIS is how stupid you sound.

It's true that it isn't about "the vaccination" any more. While the protest started over the border vaccine requirement, it has morphed (or rather, has been co-opted) into a general grievance protest against all things covid, whether vaccines, masks, restrictions and anything else you can think of. It started off grass-roots and then the usual alt-right players got involved and now we are where we are.
I get that people are sick of the pandemic and "want their lives back". Hey, we all do. Unfortunately there's a big component of magical thinking here - if wishing makes it so, then I can just say I want the pandemic to be gone and it'll be gone. An Ottawa judge has granted an injunction to silence the convoy horns for the next 10 days, noting that silencing the horns does not remove the protesters' right to protest and that the horns do not express "any great thought". The lawyer seeking the injunction pointed out that the decibel level of the horns is more than enough to cause permanent hearing loss.
