    Awesome pics.
We're still making records for people who listen to it all the way through, eyes closed, in that space.
  • I shouldn't have posted this thread to be honest,it turns into issues I really didn't want.
All I was saying is that the Belgian crowd loves festivals as we have so many of them with all kinds of different music.I never said we are the best crowd there is,I just like the atmosphere at all the gigs I've been to here the last 18 years. We have like a minimum on rules and that's exactly what makes it special.
There was absolutely no point in someone replying that we just like "greatest hits",you might as well say we don't know anything about music and that's not the case.
Anyways, having said that, love you all and enjoy the next gigs :)

    Have fun,

    David

Oh my god!!! What more can I say? Arnhem was my first PJ show ever, and I was AMAZING! I was in front row with Jaymac (Hi mate, Cato here) and the rest of the Touring Bus 06, and I got both Jeff's and Ed's pick!!! I'm in heaven, that's all the words I have to describe these two shows.
I'm the guy far right in Jaymac's picture, holding the plastic cup:

I have taken lots of pictures as well, and I'll post them here tomorrow. I just got home from Antwerp, and I don't have time to post them today.

Anyway, hi again John, it was two awesome shows, and I'm glad to have met you, Kathryn and the rest of ETB06! Talk to you more later :)

Hi Cato! Glad you got home safely.. You were a Godsend on Wednesday night - thanks so much for letting us shower and rest in your hotel room :)

    Hopefully see you next year!

  • Being a belgian, I don't care what language to speak. All I'm saying is: let the guitar speak, it can say so much more then words. I really love music, especially Pearl Jam!
Talkin' to herself, theres no one else who needs to know...
    She tells herself, oh...
  • I didn't want this to happen!! I may be thinkin' that belgian crowds are not as energetic as some other crowds but I didn't say that they're not awesome to be around!! Hey I wouldn't come to your cute little country every year to witness the wonderful Werchter & Pukkelpop if it wasn't a blast!!!

As I already said I've been to your country numerous times and will do so as often as possible. There are positive aspects as well when it comes to calm belgian crowds. Nowhere else you can go up right in front of a main stage in a huge festival like RockAmRing or Reading and not have to fight constantly for your position when the headliners are on stage! I love to chill and get drunk as hell on your concerts and festivals!!

You only know how good it is to drink stella or jupiler for 3 days once you've had to do german beer like beck's or bitburger for 3 days man that's not real fun!

The concert in antwerp wednesday was awesome and that's all that counts, period!!!!
  • I've been to Arnhem and Antwerp (Paris & Berlin still to come)
There was a review in a Dutch newspaper saying "they did what they didn't do 6 years ago: jump around like maniacs, sweat, run around the stage and really enjoy the show. I must say I liked the Arnhem show but Antwerp was better for me. Pearl Jam is back...

  • Was also on the amazing show in Antwerp. Not the best place, but who cares, PJ was for the first time here in our country. The atmosphere was great, i was sitting, but after a time, i couldn't hold it anymore and jumped right.
Thought the time after "Black" was one of the most beautiful moments.
I hope they're come next year, but NOT on the Werchterfestival!!!! No, give that fucking Schueremans not such a great honour!

Next week a short trip to Marseille, yes, yes, yes!

I'm with you on that. Seems like everybody (check out the Standaard blog) wants them on Werchter. Well I don't.

I was pretty happy with Sportpaleis. Smaller venues are not gonna happen and god help us if they go to Vorst.

    Not Werchter !!!
The smallest is the best !!!
Voorst (the new one will maybe be finished ?) or Sportpalies again (not a bad venue) or Ancienne Belgique (that would be so great in such a small place, just for fans !!!)
    But not Werchter !!!
    2006: Antwerp, Paris
    2007: Copenhagen, Werchter
    2009: Rotterdam, London
    2010: MSG, Arras, Werchter
    2012: Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin
    2014: Amsterdam, Stockholm
  • My thought since the start:
    PLEASE not Werchter!!!!

Anywhere else is just fine :)

And i was still wandering of the Antwerp show yesterday. Got some reactions from not-really-PJ-fans who where there as well to see them. They all told me it was one of the best concerts they had ever attended.
You know, being a fan it's all so normal. You know who the guys in the band are and what they are like (to some extend anyway). So you know Eddie isn't so much of a talker, and you know how he can react at times... All that things, we all expect that. But i think people not really "into" PJ don't. And then this band still manages to impress every single person in the room..

Man, I'm so unbelievably proud of this band right now!!
And proud to be liking them for so long..

    Thank you Pearl Jam!

    Hihi, imagine....... PJ in Limburg......

But trust me, you don't want to see them in the Ethias Arena. The sound and accoustic couldn't be worse...

Nice to see some "Limburgers" on here though! Hail hail the limburgians :) (oh and al the other belgians before i get into trouble here.. :) )
