We have now narrowed the field down to 3 great American bands. From these we will decide who the GREATEST AMERICAN BAND is.
REMEMBER
From this point forward only ONE band will be eliminated each round. So use your vote wisely.
You are going to pick the band that you think is the "Weakest Link" after 2 days I remove the band (1) with the most votes. We will then move on to Round 5.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
R.E.M. - Eliminated Round 3
Soundgarden
Alice in Chains - Eliminated Round 2
Metallica
Guns N' Roses - Eliminated Round 1
The Ramones - Eliminated Round 2
Talking Heads - Eliminated Round 1

Don't disappoint this guy.
As much criticism as I have for the bands that were eliminated early, TP deserves to be here. He's top 3 US all time. Who can say something bad about Tom?0 -

Don't like any of it after. Also, it's strange to think of Soundgarden as a top 2 American band of all time. As much as I like them, something feels off about that. The PJ bias here would be too much to include them in the poll, but I feel like The Doors or CCR would have been much better suited to go alongside TP in the top 2. But...the people have spoken.

I would agree it doesn’t compare with the 80s stuff, but I have fond memories of that summer after my very brief “career” as a singer lol.0

I remember the first time I heard Damn the Torpedoes shortly after it was released (which, surprisingly, was also the first T.P. I had ever remembered hearing). I was stunned. What a record!I'm also stunned that Soundgarden is beating Petty. How is this possible???Post edited by brianlux on"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -
