Is the red vinyl, besides the color, anything different from the cream colored I ordered through waste in September? I paid $130 for the deluxe edition. Seeing this red vinyl for half price?DewieCox said:Anybody scored the red vinyl? Grabbed one of discogs but not sure if the shop will come through.Post edited by pledgeagrievance on0 -
Indie store exclusive 3lp. Does the one you ordered have the book of artwork?Post edited by DewieCox on0

Just got my tracking from the discogs seller. Stoked…not a big deal if I had to wait for a black copy but most of no it all normal priced copies around the web are gone. Fully anticipated a cancel.0

Yeah mine comes with the book. That must be the difference.DewieCox said:Indie store exclusive 3lp. Does the one you ordered have the book of artwork?0 -
Listened to the third disc on Spotify today while I wait for my red vinyl. It’s good, but I expected a little more. I guess I should have expected that considering I’ve had so many Radiohead b-sides for many years.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

I believe its a deluxe set similar to AMSP and OKNOTOK deluxe editions. And yes, the 30 pg book is the difference (which is different from the 100 page book they are selling separately.pledgeagrievance said:

No I get it, I'm no radiohead purist so I don't care either way...I'm just surprised is all. I always thought that they were....I hate to use the word "principled" because that brings with it some meaning of this being unethical, because it's not, but I just have never seen this level of merch from them before.erebus said:

Tool is another band that's had a huge merchandise push these last 10 months - not that they've ever been above the merch scene by any means, but they're definitely more aggressive this year than in years past... I can't help but think not being able to tour over the last 2 years has a big hand in that.

If you can't tour, you gotta make your cash somehow. RH have a decent sized operation.0

absolutely. that seems to be the common denominator.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

I'll never complain about a band and how much merch they sell because
1. If I don't like it, I don't need to buy it and we can exist independently of each other and be fine
2. I feel like up until 2010, maybe 2015, band merch was generally limited to shows and a few odds and ends on official stores. I like having a wide variety of things to choose from to represent my fandom.

Radiohead fan here... I think ten years ago or so I would have been like "hey, whats with the ridiculous merch." Then I saw Pearl Jam go merch crazy, then Metallica... and now I'm just like, whatever lol
Once any band went beyond the t-shirt, hat, or poster to pretty much anything else... the sky became the limit. (Portlandia.. we can pickle that!)
In similar news... in Canada, Tragically Hip and Rush have been jumping on the booze brand wagon, and that makes me happy.Toronto 2000

just want to be clear that I wasn't trying to complain about it; just an observation.Tim Simmons said:I'll never complain about a band and how much merch they sell because

like you, I actually like a wide range of stuff to choose from other than the stock black t shirt with a skull on it.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0 -
This topic might be a neat gateway retrospective into my transition from a boy to a man.
I once cared about band merch. And then I didn't.
I once told myself I would never buy stupid band merch. And then I bought Pearl Jam puzzles.
I used to party until 3AM. Now I barely remember the night time unless I'm shovelling my driveway.Toronto 2000
