That was a foul!!!  Looked like he hip checked him in the air.  Fun game to watch...it feels so strange being excited about the Bulls.  Has been way too long.

Super small sample size but a a couple weeks in without Mr. August, we're basically much better offensively, while still 12th on defense. Not a bad start.

Ben's leverage has dropped. Morey has hand.

    https://theathletic.com/2934739/2021/11/04/surprise-the-heat-sixers-bulls-and-a-deeper-look-at-an-eastern-conference-that-is-nothing-like-we-expected-so-far/

In terms of how they’re getting it done, the Sixers’ profile has flipped from last season. You can’t lose a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate without having a decline on that end, of course, but the offensive improvement is counterintuitive considering he was also their primary facilitator (small sample size and all).

2020-21: Second in defensive rating; 13th in offensive rating

2021-22: First in offensive rating, 12th in defensive rating

Second-year guard Tyrese Maxey has more than doubled his per-night minutes while starting in Simmons’ spot. Rivers has given more time to Seth CurryMatisse Thybulle and Furkan Korkmaz, while giving less to Danny Green.

Whereas Simmons was the primary playmaker last season (6.9 assists per, with no one else higher than 3.5), they’re taking the committee approach now: Embiid and Maxey are averaging 4.3 assists, Harris 4.2 and Korkmaz 3.0 (Shake Milton is also at 3.0 assists per but has only played four games).

Matiise Tybulle.  For people who watch him every day, can he be a star?

No. But he could be a prototypical Three and D guy if he develops a consistent three point show. But so far I haven't seen much improvement yet.

OK I had hopes for him to bust out and be a star.  No Simmons would have been a great opportunity for him to do that.

It can hardly be shocking that they would improve on offense without a guy that was absolutely zero threat to take a jump shot, even if he's a very good play maker.

Turnovers, block, steals into easy fast breaks to your teammates.  That would be found in the +/- category?

Young guys and role players showing out. Embiid is playing like garbage yet they keep squeaking out wins. Plus all of the other injuries. If those guys get healthy and Joel starts hitting his usual shots, the sky is the limit on how long Morey can holdout on Ol’ Benny Boy.

Elite defender yes...star? No chance of being a star.

Niang is like a better version of Dario and Maxey is sort of what we hoped Fultz would be like. So much depth on this team right now.

Embiid just doesn't seem right shooting the ball. Seems a tad slow too. However his passing is damn good and the defense is DPOY worthy. I would've given him last night off.

Bodner put it perfectly - they're hitting where they consistently failed before Morey: on the margins. They're hitting on practically every move. Granted, it's November 5th but they can let Ben pound sand all season and still go pick up a big trade acquisition to put this team over the top (of course when Jo finds his shot, too).

I disagree a lot. I don’t doubt that he’s great on the radio by himself, but in this setting I think Kate is doing better. Still nowhere near Zu but no one was going to be.

That's a bunch of malarkey. He's been fantastic. Kate's better than I expected but McGinnis is getting the shaft, just like Scott Franske.

I think she's got college games for three more weeks and then she's full time.

    Embodied tests positive for COVID-19
He could miss ten days if he doesn't post two consecutive negative tests in next 24 hours or something. Not ideal with 2/3'ds of the other team also not playing right now! Tough stretch coming up too

Doc (coach not actual doctor) says Jo's got symptoms similar to Tobias. Fuck. He's gonna miss ten days and at least 6 of these tough games coming up.
