Yeah the main thing I liked in the movie was all the Sopranos callbacks/references. I liked how Junior was portrayed. I forget his name, but he's a good actor and been in a lot of decent shows/films. Thought he got his mannerisms down good.

The plot was just so all over the place. That is what didn't do it for me.

See I hated the callbacks and references. Like junior says “your sisters…” once in 80+ hours of the series and they force it into twice in 2 hours. Just unnecessary. Too gimmicky for me

That's a fair point, the mannerisms and quirks of the personalities were good explainers for that stuff in the show. There's several directions future content can take such as the childhood of Christopher since he's barely seen in the movie.

For sure. I’d love more Christopher content. He’s turned into my favorite non-Tony character. Just a tragic person.

I hope they do more for sure

I don't know. Twice with the sister's cunt was maybe too much. I thought it was funny though.

Silvio was over the top. I agree with that one.

on an unrelated note, I found out the guy who played Johnny Boy Soprano is a seventh cousin of mine, so that's kind of cool.

That is pretty cool.  I dont even know how a 7th cousin would be connected....

He has some great roles to his credit, imo.
Frank Castle / The Punisher &  Shane / TWD -- those two, especially, were awesome.

I was told my grandfather was a cousin of his grandfather as Jon Bernthal's mother was the sister of my dad's grandfather.

I love this sort of thing but it makes my brain hurt.     My sister is all into that sort of tracing for our family.
My paternal grandmother was supposedly related to royalty in Italy, which of course stopped meaning anything when she immigrated to the US in the 1920s. (If it even meant anything before)
When she had dementia on her way out of this life she used to tell us all about this.  Was hilarious to hear.  Lots of my supposed family connections.  She also thought I was her son, my father, so I used to play along with that.

That woman would have been good as The Punisher.
Instead of punishing criminals in Hells Kitchen, she would have punished pastries from the Village.

Ha, it's like that scene in Spaceballs when Dark Helmet says the Lone Star, I was your father's brother's, uncle's former roommate.

    We watched.

My husband: “THAT’S how it ends? That’s where it should’ve started.”

I thought it was good but really hope there’s a sequel. I wanted to more of Tony’s rise. Not to mention the cop thing being addressed, when Christopher shot that dude after Tony showed him.

I thought the movie left open other stories to be explored maybe in a prequel series or a sequel. There's a whole other story to how Tony goes from that scene in the end of the movie to being the boss with things such as the unrest of 83 which gets mentioned a few times in the Sopranos.

true...very likely that HBO is going to capitalize on that storyline
