Saw the Black Crowes with Isiah last week. I can tell you, he is one hell of a good fit. He nails the BC vibe and pulls off their material super well.
Also, Earthless is fucking awesome! "Live from the Mojave Desert" is in my CD player right now. Killer band that really brings it.

I sure he did, but you kinda need Marc Ford, stoned on heroin. :no_mouth:

Hmmmm. should I continue to derail this thread or the Crowes thread?

 I'll stick with this one

Brian - you're even older than me...you've heard it all...I've spent a good part of the day in the youtube/wikipedia vortex...turns out Isaiah was also in a band named howlin' rain...do you know them? seems I may have to check them out.

and, just for fun since you've heard everyone, how about red fang? their videos are hilarious.

I think that one of the things I love about music, Rob, I'll never hear it all, there's always something new!  I hadn't heard either of those bands.  That Howlin Rain video is great- I like the singing, and the intensity, whoa!

Those Red Fang videos are hilarious!
    Thanks for putting 'em up!

That IS cool! Thanks for posting it.

It's pretty strange to see J standing in front of a bunch of random Fender amps instead of his wall of Marshalls, though.

Was just reading about that on their site:

First Leg Fall Tour Dates Postponed

Due to the rise Covid cases and hospitalizations along with the impact that the Delta variant is having at the moment, Dinosaur Jr. will postpone the first leg of their fall tour, through October 2nd. In the hope that conditions improve in the coming weeks, the band intends to proceed with the November 2021 and all 2022 dates as planned. Please stay tuned for information on the rescheduled September dates and please visit point of purchase to inquire about your tickets.

    From J:
I’m really bummed that we’re not playing these shows. I miss touring and miss all of you. I’m grateful for your understanding, and I hope all of you are able to stay safe.

Me too! I have a lot of their live stuff, maybe all that has been released. This one has that "from the front row" sound quality that has so far eluded this band.

I'm glad to have it, even if I had to burn it to CD myself.

I may have to figure out how to do that.

Major cool for DInosaur/ major bummer for me.  Dinosaur Jr is going to be playing just 50  minutes down the road from here this coming Tuesday in Sacramento and after that, a couple hours away in San Francisco.

No way can I go.  My hearing is already in bad shape and I got hammered really badly the day before yesterday by a loud backfiring car.  It literally almost knocked me to my knees.  Dinosaur Jr would be the death of my hearing.  Sure would be nice if they would put out another concert video.  This is one band I would love so much to see.  But hey, can't do it all in one life time.
