Pre-order the Original Soundtrack for the upcoming film, "Flag Day" on CD and LP featuring new music by Eddie Vedder, Glen Hansard, Cat Power and Olivia Vedder.

 It serves as the musical companion to the Cannes Film Festival selected film Flag Day starring and directed by Academy® Award winner Sean Penn and starring his daughter Dylan Penn.

 Release date (digital only) August 20.

Vinyl and CDs will ship at a later date (tbd).

    The daughter of a con artist struggles to come to terms with her father's past.

    It had been announced in March 2019 that a casting call for the film had been issued, with filming for the project due to commence in Winnipeg.[1]

    The filming of the movie happened in the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg on 1 August 2019. The scene was of a graduation ceremony.[2]

    Filming had begun in June, with the cast including Penn and his children Dylan Penn and Hopper Penn. Josh Brolin, Miles Teller and Katheryn Winnick were also among the cast announced.[3] In July 2019, James Russo joined the cast.[4]

    The film is being produced by William Horberg, Jon Kilik and Fernando Sulichin.[5]

    Man, this film has been seriously slated by the reviewers from Cannes. Slightly worryingly,  one of the tweets I read not only said the script and dialogue sucked but that the "song choices" were appalling as well.

    Doesn’t mean the songs are bad, just that they don’t necessarily fit the movie.

    They cause a lot of confusion with the word “limited”.  Sometimes it means they have a limited supply for sale in the store and when they sell out you will have to purchase elsewhere.  And sometimes it means they have a limited supply for sale and that’s all that will ever be sold.  I’m not sure if the confusion is intentional to drive sales.

    Last sean penn movie i enjoyed was At Close Range.  That was made in 86.     (He was good in Walter Mitty tho)

    Not too concerned if the film sucks or not.  I want an LP!

    I've seen a few reviews. None say it's amazing, but none really slate it either. Most of the reviews I saw, good and bad, praised Ed's music. Apparently, he covers REM's Drive...

    The initial tweeted reviews straight after the screening were ghastly. You tend to get the extreme views straight after a premier screening tho.
