That does suck. Are the bars open at the ballpark? I think I'm gonna be spending my first game back at the ballpark watching a basketball game, inside.

There’s no chance of a home game next Saturday. That would be game 3 which will be in Atlanta.

Yeah they draw all this shit out right? Like, I'd love if they did 2-3-2 instead of 2-2-1-1, which add an extra day in between those backend 6 & 7 games for travel or something.

    Sunday, Tuesday, Friday this week.

I'd say we should sit Joel the first two games.  Hope for a split.  Bring him back after 7 more days rest and turn it into a best of 5 at full strength.

So what are we thinking? Jo, or no Jo?

I have faith that if it was serious then they would rest him for at least this first game to see how it goes without him like Deamon said. If they let him play today, then that means it’s actually very minor and probably won’t effect his play too much.

So with that being said, I hope he plays. But if not, I still the the W is very attainable at home. My biggest concern is the offense going stagnant without him and Trae getting easy shots/lobs at the rim without Joel down there to protect it.

Normal recovery is about 6 weeks, I doubt he's playing today.

That's on a full tear.  Tears can be tiny or huge, and Embiid's is of the smaller type.

Some players have had a small meniscus tear and missed no time, so saying 6 weeks is normal isn't really accurate.

Part of me just wants to say bag this one. He's on 1 and 3/4 legs. At the same time Atlanta can't sustain this, and I don't think we can keep turning it over like this. Just sloppy as hell.

Hadn't seen that his was a tiny tear, so I stand corrected.
Good thing he's playing or Sixers would be down 40 at half.

I agree.  If we are down by 20+ with 10 minutes left, absolutely sit Embiid.  Be happy he got the rust off and through the game healthy.  Come back motivated after a blow out loss.

I put this one on Doc more than anyone else. Danny Green cannot guard Trae Young. I think all of us know that. Why he waited a full half to sick Thybulle on him was puzzling to me. Flip flop their minutes on Tuesday.

He also seems intent on going 11 deep for some reason. Why? What’s he trying to prove? That huge 17-0 run (ish) from the 1st to 2nd quarter seemed largely against our bench. We never recovered. Felt like he was coaching a mid January game. I don’t get it. Shorten and stagger the rotations already.

We’re good though. Jo seems good, though he did land awkwardly at one point. With the right adjustments, we got this in 6 still.

I bet they determined it was an old one too. That Dr Chao guy on Twitter was speculating that once they announced day to day and he participated in warmups Wednesday.

I wasn't able to watch the game (I was out), but looks like they played well. I agree with you that was a bad decision on Doc. Hopefully they fix that problem by game 2

Everything went right for the Hawks, everything went wrong for the Sixers. At least until it was too late.

The only reason I’m worried at all is because a 39 point Embiid performance was wasted, and if he ends up missing a game or 2 in this series and the Sixers lose the series, that will be looked back on as a real shame.

I can only hope that Doc will learn from his mistakes and finally give up on some of his habits from the regular season.

Unless Embiid’s injury gets worse, I’ll predict that whoever wins game 2 will win the series.

Gotta be proud of the guys for fighting back so hard but yeah it's a shame the defensive plan in the beginning was so dreadful. Also these guys can't keep making this many 3's, right?

You wouldn't think so as they set a Franchise record.

76ers can't be turning the ball over like they did, especially the First Quarter.

They are typically a low-turnover team. That first half was like the twilight zone. Tobius' ball handling was just awful.
