From where I'm sitting I don't see how any news about the virus' origin changes the negligence, ignorance or incompetence of the trump administration, but I guess conservatives will latch onto whatever it takes to help them feel better about their golden god.

I have no problem with people from other countries commenting or having an opinion of us...I’ve said it before that I welcome those comments from other countries but please take your lead from HFD. He has opinions about the US and even if I don’t agree I respect him and listen because it’s clear he’s taken the time to learn as much as possible about the shitty situation we lived with for four years. You can think trump was correct, but make sure you include all the dumb shit he put us through as well. Even if he was right it wasn’t him so please don’t give him credit.

Everyone laughs at him because he is laughable. In this case, his statements were wild and accusatory, without basis in fact or information coming from US gov't or investigative resources. That makes him an irresponsible idiot.

Agreed. From my perspective, discovering that it was made and released accidently in a lab is a major black eye for China and gives the US and its allies really strong leverage on international affairs for the next decade +. If I was completely Machiavellian, I'd say this is the best possible scenario for the US and allies.

But it changes nothing about our politicization of our response, led by Trump and the lies and idiocy he brought forth throughout 2020.

Well the Chinese were even threatening a death sentence to people that broke protocol. That's a too extreme the other way. I guess somewhere between "Follow our orders or we'll kill you" and "The virus will be gone by May....I hope" would be best course of action for the USA.

When he then realized this wasn't going away, was going to screw up his trade deal, and needed a scapegoat---boom!
