No one cares if 7/8 seeds have to win play-in games except the 7 & 8 seeds. Also giving the 1 & 2 seeds a leg up facing a tired out opponent is totally fair as well. It doesn't take away from the regular season, it enhances it.

The funny part is LeBron endorsed the play-in tournament last March. The Lakers were the #1 seed at the time I believe.

LeBron James whines about the play-in a year after championing it (msn.com)

Oh man...other than a Pandemic Process Parade, there's nothing more I'd like to see than Lebron losing in this little tournament.

    One and Done Lebron!

This is going too goddamn good right now.

So if they get the #1 seed this whole dumb play-in doesn't worry anybody right and not knowing who the opponent is? Maybe, at best, the Celtics would be an issue? I would think whom ever they play in the 1st round shouldn't be an issue.

Nah. Starting five together is something like 23-6. 2nd best home team in league. I'm not worried about who we play in the first round....would prefer it not be the hot Wizards though. I'd rather it be one of the other teams who just stumbled into it.

I think those crafty Knickerbockers would give us a bit of a tussle in the second round though.

That would be nice. Also, because of the play in tourney, they’re gonna get about a week off anyway. Hope they’re not rusty. Lol

This version of the 76ers habitually shits the bed in one of the first two home games in the first round but then turns it on. Just so we are all expecting it.

So 6 games left, magic number 3 to finish over the Nets, 4 to finish over the Bucks. Amirite?

Yeah. I checked that as soon as I saw the 538 thing. Those odds have not budged, I don't think, for months maybe.

Some good value with those Sixers though!

I can see them winning the conference but not sure about the finals, Phoenix and Utah look very strong.  That's "odd" you would think the teams with the better records would have a better chance at winning the whole thing

Not necessarily.  Playoffs is all about experience and having stars.  The two LA teams look bad now, but if healthy and rolling in the playoffs, Utah or Phoenix wouldn't be much trouble for them.  Big IF though.

I think 538 has us a bit too high, but the Vegas odds have us a bit too low.  I really like combining the two, seems perfect:

    538:
    1- Sixers
    2- Clippers
    3- Jazz
    4- Nets
    5- Bucks
    6- Lakers

    Vegas Odds:
    1- Nets
    2- Lakers
    3- Clippers
    4- Jazz
    5- Bucks
    6- Sixers

    Combined:
    Nets 2.5
    Clippers 2.5
    Sixers 3.5
    Jazz 3.5
    Lakers 4
    Bucks 5

Yes that would be too many wins for the Bucks to catch up to and enough to guarantee a tie with the Nets.

It's pretty crazy, given everything this team has been through over the last 5 or 6 years, to just fucking cruise right into the 1 seed.

So if it does happen tonight, I would think they would basically have almost two weeks off (talking starters mostly) before their first playoff game. Should be plenty healthy, just hope not too rusty.

Cruise into the #1 seed and they're still getting treated like 2nd class citizens compared to the Nets, Bucks, and fucking Knicks. That's what's crazy.

They run some NBA Radio commercial on Sirius XM (I listen to Phillies games on there) talking about the playoff contenders and don't even mention the Sixers.

Managed rest for two weeks should be amazing for this team. They should feel like a million bucks and hopefully they can go full tilt for 48 minutes - they clearly are having trouble doing that right now (naturally).
