Okay, so literally the opposite of strategic thinking. Evaluate each piece of information on its own, as if it's a solo entity, rather than synthesizing. Great advice.23scidoo said:

This might be the wrong thread for this discussion, but wth this train is moving. My worry about too much compromise on the infrastructure bill is having something that costs a lot of money and under delivers. A Republican wet dream. I think we need to go big or go home here. If all that money gets spent and it isn’t done in a bold way all people are going to see is a bunch of money spent, the same traffic problems, no expansion of rails and mass transit etc. basically it could look like a huge amount of money to replace some macadam.mrussel1 said:Moderates trying to negotiate an infrastructure bill right in the middle of a pandemic.... obviously thinking we wouldn't notice. https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/548577-moderates-800-billion-infrastructure-bill-will-be-a-tough-sell-to-democratsScio me nihil scire

I hear you. I admit it's hard to wrap your head around those size numbers and whether 800 is too small and 2 is too big. I'm watching the signals. Machin is open to the big numbers. Coons is saying pass 800 through the senate as normal and the rest through reconciliation. And then you have some senator from SD saying any corporate tax increase is a non starter. Meanwhile the business community is saying the tax rate is too low and they wouldn't fight a 24% for infrastructure.static111 said:

Biden’s Orphaned AstraZeneca Stockpile Grows to 20 Million Doses
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-04-08/biden-s-orphaned-astrazeneca-stockpile-rises-to-20-million-doses
Canada could use these doses, considering it looks like we are going to get hit hard in this 3rd wave...
Not sure why the US does not just release these doses...Give Peas A Chance…0 -

From the article.. Biden didn’t change that order, so AstraZeneca began producing shots in the U.S. in anticipation of eventual FDA approval. Last month, the president agreed to send 4.2 million doses of AstraZeneca’s vaccine to Mexico and Canada, an arrangement the administration termed a “loan.” When those doses are included, the running U.S. AstraZeneca total is nearly 30 million so far, the people said.

Not sure why the US does not just release these doses...The hard part here is only people between 55 and 65 can get that vaccine. It's a very narrow range. My Dad opted to get that one and skipped all the queues, but my mom has some medical history and won't get one of the other ones until early May.I'm not sure what we'd do with all the astrazeneca vaccines unless we open it up.0 -
Yup. Has been for quite awhile. The goalposts keep moving around here for who qualifies for a dose but the latest recommendations by Health Canada are for everyone.mrussel1 said:
