I am irrationally excited about this show 'Mare of Easttown' due to nothing else but the Delco/Philly accent finally getting the limelight it deserves, instead of being substituted with some dumb New York/Jersey accent.

Pretty much through with watching things one episode per week. I'll watch the first and see...I used to love HBO shows but they have a lot of stuff I don't much care about on now. Hopefully this will grab me.The love he receives is the love that is saved0

I agree with the current HBO lineup. Succession is fucking awesome though. I do love Hbo Max in general though.www.myspace.com0 -

HBO Max as a whole is really, really good - probably the best platform for everything you get.
Overall, I'm disappointed by all the new content by all platforms right now tbh, though. It's just information overload that just paralyzes me from searching Netflix/HBO/Showtime/Prime/etc etc. Plus, there just seems to be nothing good on and I can't dedicate more than 30 minutes (an hour at best) of my time and attention.
Been on a Danny McBride kick of late - went back and watched Vice Principals and Eastbound & Down. Just starting Righteous Gemstones for the first time.
Also really like Raoul Peck's 'Exterminate The Brutes' because of the fucking YES of it all, but at the same time it can put me to sleep like Ken Burns.
Also watched this Concrete Cowboy movie on Netflix. NOT BAD.
What I really want to see is a new sketch show, along the lines of Kids in the Hall or Mr. Show.
There just seems to not be any decent original content right now.0 -
Oh man, you're gonna love Righteous Gemstones. I forgot about that one. Fucking pandemic probably put a pause on second season production.
Yeah I understand what you mean by info overload. It reminds me of going to Blockbuster twenty years ago and just walking around for an hour without being able to make a decision. So many choices.
I'm currently watching Larry Sanders. Never saw it. Really enjoying it. I also am jonsing to watch The Wire again. But I did that last year. I just can't decide what new shows to watch....www.myspace.com0 -
Haha, that's the thing, everyone seems to be going back to things they've already watched. I want to watch some original new shit, but there just doesn't seem to be anything worth it right now.
Funny - we were just talking about re-re-re-re-watching The Wire. Wife is a teacher, just took a promotion and into a union with the school district out of a charter. So I started talking about Season 4 and how it's my favorite and now she's onboard to go back and watch it all again. Haha, actually the reason I watched Vice Principals again because she never saw it and it's (very loosely) related to schools & teachers.0 -
I started watching The Mighty Ducks series on Disney + hahahah. The wife is doing The Crown by herself and I'm sure we'll try to find something to watch together after. Just no time in the summer with baseball and the shore.0

Holy shit, forgot I pay for Hulu, too (plus YouTube TV). See what I mean???
That's where Netflix has shined lately - their cooking shows & docs. Not a big Chef Show fan, but Chef's Table - hellllll yes, even though it's pretentious as shit. The BBQ season has been amazing. Love that show and Taco Chronicles. mmmmmm0 -

We watched Season 1 of The Great on Hulu - pretty entertaining watch with the wife. It's fun to randomly say "huzzah" about everything that happens all day. "Good strong coffee. HUZZAH!"
Currently watching (really late on this one) The Americans - stream on Prime. Totally crazy show.
Doing a rewatch of Mad Men.
Yeah looking forward to that Delco HBO show. Did it start yet? People started tawking about the Philly accent after the Four Seasons Total Landscaping lady was in the Super Bowl commercial. Hate when they use those stupid NY accents - we know how to pronounce our R's here.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25
