Would be amazing.  If MMJ is here too it would be perfect.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.

Are we thinking two nights over two weekends for ACL?

Well, if you live on the East coast, this would be great. Those of us who live in the Midwest or West coast might have some difficulties and a lot more expense. A flight from the St Louis area and lodging in NYC vs a 3 hour drive? Having said that, I would probably find a way to make it.
I’m in Toronto and gambling on the border reopening on top of all that.  But I’m not missing this show if it happens.  I’ll apply for a green card if I have to...
All you need to do is fly instead of drive.   It's only the land border that's closed.  Plus if the US reopens, we can defacto travel, because Canadian's are permitted to come home.  So if the US lets us in, we're allowed to go back.

In my case the major issue would be if they reschedule the Oakland shows before I'm vaccinated,, but I'm hoping it's a non-issue.
There is also the matter of the quarantine.  I want to see PJ at these fests if they happen, but do I want to be under house arrest for two weeks afterwards? Or worse, hotel quarantine with guards? What is this world coming to?

I guess there's that, but if you drive back through, it's pretty much on the honour system.

There's enough holes in our covid rules that they're more like swiss cheese :)

It'll definitely be interesting if the US decides to open up it's border crossings before Canada wants too.

All this being said... I think it'll be a non issue.  If we do get concerts in the fall, the majority of Canadians should be vaccinated by them. Either they're working and covid cases rapidly dropped, or it's a failure and we have to go with the Thanos option.  There's no in between :)

Jazz Fest 2021 has been pushed to the Fall as well.  Voodoo Fest may still be on for late Oct. Could hit ACL, Jazz Fest, Cynthia Woods (One of the largest outdoor venues in US) just outside of Houston.  This is a wishlist, not rumor confirmation.  ACL only one at this point that is getting any buzz.

Does the ACL buzz indicate which weekend would Bee the PJ weekend?

    https://www.boston.com/travel/travel/2021/04/08/tanglewood-schedule-summer-2021

Tanglewood - an amphitheater in western Mass that is the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra - is planning a summer series of symphony shows, with some pop and rock artists potentially playing in the fall. James Taylor plays to packed crowds there every July 4th, and Trey Anastacio and Brandi Carlile were booked last year before COVID wiped everything out. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison for a PJ show but good news nonetheless.

Tanglewood’s Popular Artist Concert Series will be announced at a later date, but the concerts are expected to take place in late August and early September.

Quarantine in September? Not sure you are up on current events, but the country is in the process of opening up. Vaccinations and herd immunity are underway now. Six months before the concert. No offense but is quarantining even still a thing in the US?

It's that part true?  It seems parts of the US are reducing restrictions, but at the same time, it seems herd immunity isn't a thing yet, so many places are opening up prematurely, and many places are seeing a growth in the virus again?

I figure, if I were planning for things, and I didn't want to risk having to postpone again, I'd wait until we saw cases significantly drop and saw the impact of the vaccine?

Country...either the old "Johnny Cash" style or the new type that has electric guitars and drum sets... idk.

That might be a mess. Country fans get DRUNK like nobody's business...it's all the $2 PBR and $3 whatever the hell they drink. Hopefully it'll be seated in pods and no standing areas. And when people get crazy drunk, they're less likely to follow various regulations.

To be clear, I am referring to Canada’s quarantine for returning Canadians.  Currently it is 14 days, 3 of which in a government mandated and overpriced hotel if returning by air, and basically as an inmate.  It’s not cool.

Given we have a vaccine shortage it makes sense.  We can barely get a handle on domestic spread, let alone starting new clusters from people coming back.

The government's pretty much said don't travel, so I think it makes sense. I do find the governments messaging to be mixed.  Don't travel, but on the other hand, they're not doing that much to stop it either.  If you want to travel, you can easily do it.

some of you watch the news too much. There will always be covid, get used to it. There will be pop up infections going forward and the news will sensationalize it. The facts are we are getting vaccinated and everyday is closer to opening up 100%. Yes, the news will scare you if you let it, but this is getting better, not worse. Be happy, get your vaccine and get ready for Ohana this year!

This. Our leaders and media have done a terrible job at defining our objective going forward. We won’t eradicate this in our lifetime but with vaccines we can keep the vulnerable safe and go on with our lives.

Exactly - we will not eradicate the virus and quite possibly will have to get repeated vaccinations/boosters for decades. We will still have some amount of people get sick and possibly die from it, just like the flu. We will never remove all risk from our lives. All that said, we will be a long way from losing half a million people like this past awful year.

Billy Joel Notre Dame stadium show for the last Saturday in June 2021 has been moved to the same weekend in 2022.  Just announced on Friday.  He still has other stadium shows this summer that have not been moved to 2022...yet.  Not that I’m going to any of those but it’s interesting to see how long before they confirm or cancel the others.  GNR still have a NA stadium tour on the cards for this summer as well.  I dunno, doesn’t seem very likely to have anything on that scale at the moment.
