I know Diana and Charles were tabloid fodder in the 90's. And women here like to watch their royal weddings. If anything, they're known here more as as a strange (and to some, interesting) family than they people of importance. They're more Kardashian than Biden is what I'm trying to say.
People take them seriously where as I do not.2000: Camden 1, 2003: Philly, State College, Camden 1, MSG 2, Hershey, 2004: Reading, 2005: Philly, 2006: Camden 1, 2, East Rutherford 1, 2007: Lollapalooza, 2008: Camden 1, Washington D.C., MSG 1, 2, 2009: Philly 1, 2, 3, 4, 2010: Bristol, MSG 2, 2011: PJ20 1, 2, 2012: Made In America, 2013: Brooklyn 2, Philly 2, 2014: Denver, 2015: Global Citizen Festival, 2016: Philly 2, Fenway 1, 2018: Fenway 1, 2, 2021: Sea. Hear. Now. 2022: Camden, 2024: Philly 2, 2025: Pittsburgh 1

They're celebrities. The wedding got major coverage. Major announcements like babies get big coverage, but you don't hear about them daily, only when a story breaks. I don't get it. I couldn't care less about a royal family. I couldn't even tell you what the point of their monarchy is with having a Prime Minister.

My recollection is that the obsession with the Royals (outside of KC) here in the US started with Diana and the royal wedding to Charles. I could be wrong, maybe it has been going on longer, Wobbie could tell us about whether Americans had an obsession with Queen Victoria or King George III. I think the whole fairy tale story of a commoner becoming a princess captured the public's imagination.
And the Diana obsession has carried over to her 2 sons and their marriages/families.This weekend we rock Portland0 -

Saw that Harry has said, via Oprah, he wants people to know it was not his grandfather or grandmother who said it.
“YOU”.
I also disagree with SC, I don’t think a high percentage of white people feel that way. But that doesn’t make him racist.
just ask our 1st nations people’s if they are treated very differently ... you know the real owners of North America...

If you have a royal family in your country then it’s time to put your big boy pants on and toss those leeches out with the trash...
