I agree 100% The Even Flow on Wednesday was the best Ive seen. The energy and the band it was like all of it was rehearsed, everybody was just in tune with eachother. Mike fucking OWWWNED that solo and then Ed didnt even sing the last verse he let us audience members take it home.

I turned to my buddy [who I go to all my PJ shows with, and we have both been die-hards since 'Ten', and we are both on the 'its only worth it for mike' list] and we were both in awe. I said "I finally 'got' Evenflow, WOW!!" he said "Yeah Wow, thats was amazing, I think thats my new favourite song"

Thats how good Eflow was on night 2!!

I couldnt agree more!!! I admit to being one of the people who let out the "uggh" when the started Evenflow again on night 2,but after it was over i think i almost came in my pants!!! WoW! I also turned to my buddy who is a die-hard like me and i said " thats the reason Evenflow gets played almost every night!! " It really kicked ass and you could feel the intensity in the crowd and the band after that!

  • Back in Brooklyn now after toronto 2/albany... I can't explain how it feels.. I'll try. I'm different some how. I'm an old lady with a husband/baby/career, and I'm following this band around (well, 5 shows) like a dead head. And now after these past 2 (same post on albany thread) I'm introspective - feeling like I need to satisfy my creativity. I've gotten caught up in this great life and forgot that my soul needs to be soothed and inspired. And oh, my, god, am I inspired.

You've read all the great moments, the solos, the tunes... but I must say that after hum... 15? shows since '95... I'm in awe. These guys are so talented, so much fun.

In toronto I was front row. FRONT FUCKING ROW. Right in front of Mike. 10C, I love you. I was with my husband and surrounded by awesome people (Brian/Michelle, Oliver/Evie) and we danced our asses off. My throat was so sore that my 9 month old daughter didn't recognize me when I got home, my calves were so tight that I couldn't walk the next 2 days, and I have random bruises all over my body. I think I was possessed. Someone mentioned that it felt like a living room? My god, with only security in front of me, it felt like I was in their rehearsal space! And security up front was amazing. (Rocket, hats off to you my friend for treating those guys with so much respect. Thank you - remember to watch Little Einsteins!) Ed passed his wine our way, I'd like to think to me, but that's selfish :) I did grab it first because I'm a germafobe and normally wouldn't swill from a random's bottle, but like I said, I was possessed. It was lovely wine, actually. But I could've drank anything at that point, I was so thirsty. But I digress. Everyone around us said the show was so much better than night 1, we didn't go. All I know is that they were explosive, tight, amazing, and just, well, happy to be there. As was I. Thanks from the bottom of my heart (Holy Crap!) Toronto-ians are a wonderful people to see the show with. I did feel terrible though when the cab driver put down our country on the way to the airport, terrible because I couldn't agree more.

So I figured Albany would be a great show, that my seats wouldn't be as great being in my home state, but that the magic of toronto was solely due to my front row-ness. Surprise surprise.... I had 3rd row in front of Stone and the people in front of me didn't rock out (how some could not feel it is beyond me), so I had a 'front row view'. I brought one of my best friends who hadn't seen PJ since Jones Beach, and never a show from up close. He's a changed boy. OK, so again, the set, the moments, etc... one I'd like to point out that I had Rats written on my arm and it was played. Am I the freak? I hope so! ....here's what the night was... the night (as in all pearl jam shows, I've come to realize) is comparable to a big orgy. Seriously... down there, in the closeness of the band, with the amps beating music in our hearts, our energy swirls up in the air and mingles with the music, and flirts with all the other energy until it's this explosive give and take. The band must feel it. I know I give everything I have to these shows, throw it out and up because it's contagious to feel that good without any chemicals. After every song, I'm catching my breath, my knees are shaking, my heart and mind are pure childish exhiliration. It's a private ride, shared with strangers whom you may never see again, but leave feeling like you are a part of (including the group).

OK, sorry for the flourishes. It's late and I'm waiting for my boots to download, and tomorrow is back to the routine. I just wanted to share these thoughts before they fade, before subway rush hour and pushy marketing people steal my energy and keep it. Luckily I have Philly and the 2 NJ shows to look forward to. Pearl Jam/10C, you are amazing. I'm forever your girl.

homewardangel - I'm truly sorry for the loss of your friend, Deborah.

Friends, enjoy every show. I'll look forward to your fanviews. Cheers!

Just had to say my "two words", regarding 05/10/06 my dream concert!!!!! Not my first not my last. I must say Eddie and the boys love us Canucks and I think that was more than "felt", last Tues. and Wed. nights.

The only thing we London girls were dissapointed in was not seeing Nathan back at the Loose Moose. See you in Grand Rapids?
    Peace,

I stood in the best section of the house beside a lovely woman who was on her own for the night. She let me stand beside her and I'm forever grateful as the usher was going to boot me out of said section (Corporate boxes are in this area).I bought a 25.00 rearview(mirror) ticket but wanted to stand in good spot. Got my wish. Show was fantastic. Best I've seen them. Crowd AMAZING. New stuff sounded great. Wish I'd heard Gone or Inside Job but that's a small quibble with a two hour and forty five min. show that was brilliant from start to end. Thank to everyone I met that night that was good to me and damn I wish I'd gotten that girl's # She was a total fan and I thought "wow imagine a whole night of wine. PJ discussion and who know what else with this girl" . If by some miracle she reads this get a hold of me somehow??? What a night!

Seeing Pearl Jam live is ALWAYS amazing and also somewhat of "spiritual" experience for me. All Toronto shows have of course been wonderful, but this was truly a very special night. A perfect combination of great songs and a magical energy from both the band and the fans.

    PS
I agree with Two Birds, it would have been great to see Nathan again after the show!

Apparently Stone said something to Eddie that made him laugh just as he was about to start singing, and he couldn't stop for the first bit of YL. It was very endearing!

What song did Eddie fall of the speaker/light fixture? I can't seem to remember.

After Fuckin' Up he says, "One last toast to Uncle Neil!", as in Neil Young, since Fuckin' Up is his song. As for the end of Alive.....that one comes for a fee! lol......no really I have no idea, gotta listen to the bootleg again...like I need an excuse anyways.
