    Unfortunately in this country that is a matter of perspective.  Most R voters that I know were perfectly happy with the R senators upholding the Constitution and not legitimizing the "farce" of "a witch hunt" trial.  Some going so far as to say that dems need to learn to read the constitution.   That second impeachment sadly did nothing, but justify both sides into believing they are the right and virtuous ones.  Its a sad state of affairs

    Importantly, it's locked into the history books, and we have a full accounting of the events on record, rather than disparate reporting, videos, etc.  While that may not seem important now, I think it will be in future years.  He was never going to be convicted, but D's had no illusions that he would.

And it's not like they ever ran a fake university that was forced to shutter for fraud. It's not like the personal lawyer for the head of the company ever served time in jail for campaign finance fraud.
