    Having a bad boss is brutal.  Are you looking for a new job?  Is there someone further up the chain that you can speak with? Toxic work environments wreak havoc on your mental and physical health as you know.  Are there option for working from home so there’s less daily interaction between you guys?  

    Sending hugs and sympathy.  I’ve been there.  Mine was psychotic.  You never knew who was going to walk through the door in the morning: the one who was sweet and charming or the psychotic bitch who would verbally or physically assault you.  She was close friends with the district manager so our complaints fell on deaf ears.  It wasn’t until there was a corporate purge and a new DM was hired that she was finally fired.  I still occasionally have nightmares about it and I don’t even work for that company anymore.

    You earned your time off, take it when you want and don't worry about it. Hope you find a way to relax the rest of the day and not think about work.

    it's weird. besides summer holidays, this is my first day off during the pandemic. working mostly remotely, I had this odd urge to check my work email and maybe do a couple things. I stopped myself. 

    working from home has made "turning off" work a lot harder. especially on the frozen prairies.

    You've taken one sick day in 18 months, amazing! I cant imagine many people can say that.  I hope you had a good break that day.  I work 4 days a week so I really appreciate long weekends.  I'd be well chuffed if I could work for a whole year with only one sick day.  Sorry to hear your boss is a buffoon.
