Dont know if it makes a difference but mine was given to me by a friend that used to work at Amoeba Berkeley, 15 or so years ago, said he got it from a charity auction but came with removed outer case, hence no number, only vinyl and sleeves.
rsd05/2000 (Still) here...won it in the mystery vinyl offer a few years ago! best win ever.

Is it fair to say if a copy isn't numbered, it is a bootleg?
No, there are unnumbered copies.
The boots of these are easily identifiable as they use the CD cover image as the cover, orange vinyl and probably the 16/44.1 files as their source.
Too bad they didn't use the 24Bit Flac vinyl rips of the original pressings as their source. Believe there are two or so vinyl rip sources that sound pretty good, which have been shared in the trading community for years.
Would be great if they someday released a reissue edition of Benaroya on black vinyl for a RSD event.

No, it's fairly common to do an overrun when you create a limited edition item. 10 to 20 percent? PJ seem to have given out/sold the xtras of the years. 2013 popup event, another pop up event, charity auctions, etc...

But all of these have some marking from 10c e.g. "POP13", right?

Whats the story with the signed version being sold by Matt's son for $1200? And who was the lucky buyer at that price? Was it for charity or something?

No Boom. Thats why it was $1200. Cool story, thanks for sharing. I will now be refreshing discogs all day. #3, thats crazy too. I'm assuming the son knew the value and was just being nice to some random guy? Probably doesn't need the extra 5or 10k he could have gotten
