I bought #1909 about 5 years ago. Never thought I would own a Benny (when they were released I wasn’t into vinyl and I only bought the CD 😒) but then I found this copy on eBay and the bidding was low due to the box being damaged. Got it for less than $700 and the vinyl plays great :)

Is it fair to say if a copy isn't numbered, it is a bootleg?
No, it's fairly common to do an overrun when you create a limited edition item.  10 to 20 percent?   PJ seem to have given out/sold the xtras of the years.  2013 popup event, another pop up event, charity auctions, etc...
But all of these have some marking from 10c e.g. "POP13", right?
I want to say ive seen unmarked ones for sale.  Maybe im wrong
Im pretty sure numbers could be removed if someone was inclined. Just sharpie on a glossy surface.

Can't see good from this angle.
Not a big tear on the shrink wrap on this one, which makes this ... super limited!!! :p

    I have 9 Benny’s .. buried in a safe .. all sealed..
    Conversations getting dull
There's a constant ringing in my ears
Sense of humor's void and numb
    And I'm bored to tears.......

That's what I was thinking. It's hard to tell from the photo but if not, seems suspect. Also, even harder to tell, but the shrink doesn't look right either. Different kind of plastic?

There is no tear in the shrink, the shrink is very tight around the record it’s not like the thinner looser shrink wrap

If there was no tear in the shrinkwrap for numbering then looks like someone has redone the shrinkwrap. That kind of thing can add hundreds on to a copy so could see why it is done but dodgy practice. I keep all the shrinkwrap for my stickered records in a box. That way if I sell, one day it will get put back in it or sent to the new owner, people like all those stickers etc.

That's weird there is no tear in the shrink, especially where it was numbered.

Hmmm interesting.  Are there any other signs of it being not legit?  Will it be a big deal if I planned to open and spin it anyway?

It came to me from a reputable seller in a reputable group so hoping there was no foul play involved

It’s definitely a real, legit copy.  Someone just resealed it.

Great way to charge sealed prices on open items.

Have you contacted 10club? Wonder what they would say.

This is also true.   He seemed to be asking if it was possibly not a legit copy tho.  He plans on spinning it so that’s good.  It won’t matter anymore, but yeah someone tried to pass this off as sealed.

Basically if it’s numbered or labeled for a Pop Up shop it’s going to have a tear. If it’s not numbered it wont have a tear.
