No, I really don't fool around with illegal bootlegs. Hopefully people don't get ripped off buying what they think is a legit copy and end up with mp3s cut to vinyl.

I could also use a little more information on this. Was there a source? Is this your hope? Are you confident enough to sell me your current version for $200 because you're 100% confident?

With SO MANY bootlegs of this, I probably wouldn't want to buy a sealed copy unless there are distinct differences in the legit vs the bootlegs.
I have a sealed legit copy, an opened legit copy  and a sealed bootleg copy and would say there are some differences between a bootleg and and a legit. Mainly on the spines.
The words “Pearl Jam Lost Dogs” is larger on the bootleg.
The words “Epic” and the item number “E3 85738” are on the legit but not on the bootleg.
The legit copy has a upc sticker while the sealed bootleg did not.
I would also say that the legit copies are grey while the bootleg has a pink/purple tone. The bootleg is one the middle of the pictures.

Great Information for those looking to buy. Crazy that we need a "Legit Check" thread for these records. But if your going to spend $$$$, you need to make sure your not getting the replica, unauthorized illegal bootleg stuff.

I was about to respond to the above commenter about mine but now I'm nervous mines possibly a bootleg. It has the e4 85738 and the epic and the runout on the vinyls is right. Its missing the upc though which is what alarmed me I guess. It looks like in your pic one of the original versions doesn't have a UPC either?

If i read it correctly the legit copy had the UPC on the plastic wrap.

In the pictures I posted, the UPC is on my sealed legit copy. My other legit copy is opened so it doesn’t have the UPC because the shrink wrap is gone. Hope that helps clear up any confusion.

Additionally, I posted the pictures for reference only. I am not selling or trading any of my copies.

I always buy extra LPs to trade later for better seats if nec. I bought 6 Lost Dog LPs on tower.com back in the day and so glad i did. I think I even got a discount for spending over $75, as well as free shipping. I spent less than $15 on each after the discount. With all the downsizing going on at my house it might be the right time to start selling some of this stuff since shows are few and far between.

Kicking myself on Lost Dogs. I think its 4 legit copies Ive had. 1 returned at time because it had a minor imperfection (people would be biting my hand off for it now), 1 I sold at time for less than £20, 1 I kept and 1 I bought used only a few years ago for £85 and sold for around £200.

I should really keep doubles but dont. I never learn, used to buy a couple of everything so I got as close to perfect as possible.

Hopefully they repress this album. I don’t promote or advocate for buying bootlegs, but they are fairly easy to find.  I collect Original Japanese pressings of albums with the OBI strip, which can cost some decent money.  A few of the websites I buy the Japanese pressings from carry bootlegs, which they do advertise as such.

Happy hunting you will find them if you do a little searching.  But again I don’t advocate or recommend them.  Buy a nice old Japanese pressing of an old KISS or Black Sabbath album !!
