  • It’s not about Tricky Team Trump Treason Tax Cheat supporters. Those Deplorables are too far gone. It’s about the Dems and indies working together to banish the deplorables to back under their collective rocks. Steve Schmidt said it best as he’s leaving the repubs to become a dem, realizing he’ll have policy differences, because our democracy is worth saving. That gives me hope and that in 10 or 15 years the country will have moved on and the deplorables will still be whining about a stole election.

Same. Joe has to say he wants to unite the country after the Great Divider. Trump has been very popular among Republicans and he's hovered at right around 40% overall the whole time.  That's not a very good approval rating for a president but given the level of devotion towards him, that threatens to be an enormous impact on everything.  The question is, of that 40%, is a significant portion just ready to move on and stop living life to own the libs and to be angry (despite long having forgotten what they're angry about)?  Are they ready to just go on and be conservative the way they were when the voted for Mitt Romney? Or does most of that 40% intend to spend the next four years whining about voting machines and late-night ballot burning?  We've seen an unprecedented level of devotion to Trump, but hopefully the truly far-gone is a smaller proportion than it seems like.

Four solid picks. And get the WWF out of the SBA.

Governor Gina Raimondo as Secretary of Commerce
Currently serving her second term as the 75th Governor of Rhode Island -- the first woman to hold the position -- Gov. Raimondo is known as an effective and innovative executive whose strong management brought her state back from what was, at the time she first ran for Governor, the worst unemployment rate of any state in the nation. A champion of creative, forward-thinking economic initiatives, Governor Raimondo launched successful workforce training programs to prepare Americans for the 21st century economy. She will be a key player in helping position the United States as an exporter of 21st century products and leader in the clean energy economy.

Mayor Marty Walsh as Secretary of Labor
If confirmed, Mayor Walsh would be the first union member to serve in this role in nearly half a century. Mayor Walsh has worked tirelessly to rebuild the middle class, create a more inclusive, resilient economy, and fight for workers in his hometown -- including fighting for a $15 minimum wage and paid family leave. Having served as the head of both Laborers' Union Local 223 and the Boston Metropolitan District Building Trades Council, Mayor Walsh has the necessary experience, and relationships to help workers recover from this historic economic downturn and usher in a new era of worker power.

Isabel Guzman as Small Business Administrator
Currently serving as Director of California’s Office of the Small Business Advocate and a key leader in the state’s COVID-19 economic recovery, she works closely with entrepreneurs to help them weather the pandemic and support innovation, job creation, and economic growth in the nation’s largest state network of small businesses. A former senior advisor and deputy chief of staff at the SBA -- and a small business entrepreneur herself -- she is a passionate advocate for small businesses who knows firsthand the opportunities they create for families and communities.

Don Graves as Deputy Secretary of Commerce
An experienced public servant who has been my long-time trusted advisor on jobs and the economy, Graves is a widely respected leader who has successfully taken on some of the toughest challenges facing our economy. When Detroit grappled with bankruptcy, President Obama and I put Graves in charge of coordinating the response to bring the city back -- working with municipal, state, business, and community leaders, he oversaw the historic effort to revitalize the Motor City. Graves knows how to successfully manage some of the federal government’s most critical and impactful job and small business-focused programs.

Until he is sworn in I don't mind this stance.

And when he is sworn in and the new DOJ is established it will be go time for them and they will be able to prosecute all their crimes.

i don't think so. i think joe is going to wash his hands of holding any of trump's admin accountable. he already told us how "proud" he was of mitch mcconnell. that's his first step to his reconciliatory stance.

he's going to task congress with doing the dirty work, so he can be the "unity" president, all the while hoping congress does the right thing.

politically, it's smart. he doesn't really have much choice. he has millions of people that believe he illegitimate. remember, we all thought trump was unfit, but when that many people think you are illegitimate? that's worse. MUCH WORSE. he is going to focus on policy and nothing else.

he's going to task congress with doing the dirty work, so he can be the "unity" president, all the while hoping congress does the right thing.

politically, it's smart. he doesn't really have much choice. he has millions of people that believe he illegitimate. remember, we all thought trump was unfit, but when that many people think you are illegitimate? that's worse. MUCH WORSE. he is going to focus on policy and nothing else.
But part of "washing his hands" is to be hands off of the DOJ.  If the DOJ decides to pursue it would be normal for the WH to stand back and have no comment whatsoever.  We are just so used to tRump using the DOJ as his personal hit squad we've forgotten what their job is.

i don't think so. i think joe is going to wash his hands of holding any of trump's admin accountable. he already told us how "proud" he was of mitch mcconnell. that's his first step to his reconciliatory stance.

i understand that. i think he's going to take it one step further and ask that we all move on and join hands.

If he does it might be because he knows tRump will get nailed by SDNY anyway.

Honestly it would be a smart move.  I don't like it but it might be necessary to keep tRump from being a martyr

yes, as i said, politically for him it makes sense. But part of me wants to see Biden rake him and his idiots over the coals for at least 6 months. call fox news oann and newsmax the enemy of the people every chance he gets. call all of his detractors losers and whiners.

not the real part of me. the 6 year old part of me.

Pretty sure he promised 2k checks if the boys won in Georgia.  Although 1400 and 600 does equal 2000 dollars, neither of those things is a 2000 check.   Don’t start by breaking promises
