Georgia Runoffs

Georgia has set the standard here. Turnout and caring.
People cannot be complacent for 2022 or 2024.... and shouldn't be complacent for 2021 or 2023 either. You know damn well that the Trump cult and the Proud Boyz arent going to be complacent. The minute we fall asleep again, we will fall back into the Trump abyss. It needs to be vanquished forever, and frankly, the Republican Party needs to be minimized to West Virginia and Wyoming... that is unless they actually create a platform and live by some sort of decency.0 -

I hope that Dems will finally learn that now is the time to get things done and pass legislation. Don’t worry about the election in two years. Pass meaningful legislation and ram it through the way republicans have. All the dem wishlist points, we have two years let’s smash it. There is no guarantee that republicans don’t come roaring back into the 2022 senate. I hope the loss of power destroys McConnelScio me nihil scire

I truly think they believe they will be able to keep tiptoeing around him and Paul Ryan or Cruz will be able to get the nomination in 2024 and things will return to 'normal'.
The problem is, trump and his family very much want 2024 and congressional seats. if anyone says anything critical, trump will have his masses primary them and install some sort of Qanon idiot. When the primary starts, the likes of Ryan or Cruz will be a bug on the windshield.
They cant just wait this out expecting it to fade. I really think they need a large-scale movement to reject trump which will likely uproot our national political system (which actually would be a good thing).0 -

At least now Biden will get to put together his cabinet, likely pass stimulus, things like election security, possible marijuana legalization, etc.
Win a few more seats in 2022 and we could really see some things come into play like statehood for DC and PR, extra supreme court seat(s), etc...0 -

It's on the Dem Party to realize this and stick their thumbs in every wound they can.
I don't expect the Dem Party to go crazy left, but getting through a better healthcare plan and a better approach to the pandemic makes me fucking giddy on their own. Send green-based jobs to the Rust Belt en masse. Things like this should be able to happen.0 -

this is still an incredible win for dems and a massive loss for republicans. maybe mcconnell retires? hopefully. put that fucker out to pasture.By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0

the biggest difference is that McConnell would prevent anything from seeing the Senate floor which protected his potentially-vulnerable Republicans from going on-record with voting.
Now, things will hit the floor, and when Senators vote against things like stimulus $ for small business, flags for orphans, or just routine machinations of keeping a functional Federal government... those become data points for the case against them in 2022.0 -
I don't think Mitch retires, no way. He's been quoted in the past saying how much pain he can withstand. He's awful. Now, someone like Susan Collins I can see calling it quits.0

The dems need to improve health care and target tax cuts for those in the $30-$70K range, Jack taxes on corporations and the top 1-5% and micro target infrastructure investment and green initiatives to vulnerable dem districts and red districts that can flip. Create jobs, deal with the pandemic, pay attention to the middle and call out the traitorous and seditious at every turn. Mend fences with Europe and Asia, open markets and reduce barriers to trade. Way to appease Manchin and the rest of Rust Belt USA - invest in new infrastructual and energy grid jobs (read: Green energy and cleaner transportation). You give his electorate well-paying jobs that actually have a future and he's rewarded. This goes hand-in-hand for me along with healthcare and pandemic-related fiscal stimulus. This gets you going in the right direction and can be done in a moderate Dem Senate.0
