Horrifying. Probably the worst thing I've seen in this entire shitshow of a term.  15 more days of this shit.

    Macho Man

Body, body wanna feel my body
Body, baby, such a thrill, my body

Baby, don't you doubt, my body
Body, talking about my body, body
    Baby, checking out my body

Didn't it hurt the Giants and help the Football Teamers from Washington?
    hahaha

In my opinion, and in the opinion of Eagles fans it helped the Giants more because it kept that garbage 6-10 team out of the playoffs and certain wild card embarrassment and, in the process, handed them a draft pick 8 slots higher than if they got in.

That was an eye opener! Between that and Fortunate Son, you have to wonder who is in charge of music at his rallies. That person is either clueless or one of the greatest deadpan practical jokers in history.

republicans have been historically awful at choosing political rally songs. they always pick the ones pointing the finger at themselves. so incredibly self unaware.

They also tend to upset the artists who don't want to be associated with them.  Brian Adams asked Louisiana to stop playing a song that David Duke was using way back in the day.

A little slideshow: Almost all GOP. I'm sure part of the reason is that musicians tend to be left of center but I wonder whether the GOP is also worse at doing their homework and/or getting permission.

i think they are just plain worse at having the EQ to understand the meaning of a good song.

He's just going to claim "fake news" again anyway because the WH never announced officially it was him going, just a plane similar to ones he's used in the past.

    but that's awesome nonetheless.

That, too.  The poster-child example is Reagan using "Born in the USA."  Sure the chorus is rock-anthemy and could be construed as patriotic/jingoistic/nationalistic/whatever without the context of the rest of the lyrics. But you'd think someone running a presidential campaign taking in millions of dollars would do a little homework on song lyrics.

I recall seeing "Fortunate Son" on a Wrangler Jeans commercial.  They only played "Some folks are born made to wave the flag; oh the red, white, and blue."  I just thought it was funny because in the song, he's ripping those people and the marketing firm had to have known that. And so do some people but I guess they decided it would not cost them sales (I am sure they were right but it's still funny).  I'm sure John Fogerty (who I think has no ownership of CCR songs) was thrilled.

i would imagine marketing firms are probably well aware of the meanings of these things, but they weigh how many people in their client's demographic actually know it. i'm sure there were many fans of the song Born In the USA that had no idea it was critical of the US. many casual fans of big songs like that only know the chorus, and either don't know the rest of the words or they just don't click. when Born first came out, I was one of them. Mind you, I think i was probably about 10, but you get the idea.
