As well as raised 10s of thousands of dollars for low income and disadvantaged folks!
I don’t know how I initially missed that it was a fundraiser.

Total is up over $200,000 now.

Congrats to AOC. She was just named employee of the month at Goya.

“When she boycotted us, our sales actually increased 1,000 percent,” Robert Unanue said on the “Michael Berry Show.”

“So we gave her an honorary, we never were able to hand it to her, but she got employee of the month for bringing attention to Goya and our adobo.”

Since he is a supporter of the liar-in-chief I would guess a slight bump in sales but not 1,000%

Maybe it's true. I am sure the Trumpies all went out and bought a bunch of it.  In the long run, though? I'd guess they lost more customers than they gained. I don't think they're going to keep up the momentum on buying canned black beans for the long haul.

Trumpers did go out and buy, plus there were large GoFundMe campaigns for the very hard done by Goya.

They don’t die from covid? Funny, jealousy kills. But you know, jealousy.

Speaking of Illinois, hows the facts, surges, thanksgiving, spikes and deaths and all? You know, government numbers? Going to visit, maskless? Fuck those people, right? Culling, it’s a hard thing. Sometimes.

31 year olds die a lot less than the 65+ group, no?

Not sure what the rest of that rant means. It’s hard to follow.
    True.

    Not surprised.

Congrats on being one of the first to get the vaccine AOC.
31 year old, non-healthcare workers must be high risk.

so do people think that political leaders should be first in line, or even close to first? I get the prez and prez-elect getting it. But a congressperson? why? I don't believe canadian senators and provincial premiers are getting them. My premier has already stated he's anxious to get it, being 65+ with asthma, but he will wait his turn like everyone else. Why the hell is AOC getting it first?
    Darwinspeed, all.

    Cheers,

That's the question.  Now there is a "continuity of gov't" strategy out there that allows for this type of thing.  But the question is should young reps take it?  I don't think so.  Should Nancy, Chuck, Mitch?  Yes.  They are all high risk and in positions that require them to be public.

Because no matter how much people (very often politicians) give lip service to community and the greater good, in the end they will usually do what benefits themselves the most.

I think it’s bullshit.  Fuck praising AOC for getting the vaccination early...I wonder who’s grandmother will die because she got to jump the line.  As far as I know, she is not in an “at risk” group...Elitism at its finest.

Omar criticized her publicly.  I was surprised.  But she lost a parent to COVID so I know she is really focused on the vaccine getting to seniors.

I'm of two minds about this. I get that a lot of people may need to see that people in authority seem to trust the vaccine, and this normalizes the idea of getting vaccinated. If none of those in government got vaccinated conspiracy theories would flourish even more than they already do. However, I don't think that outweighs the fact that all of these early doses should be going to the highest risk people.

I think the continuity of government argument is bullshit in this instance.
