    It begs the question though whether it was the right thing to do.  Not saying it isn’t but if more people died from the the response than the virus itself then one could make an argument.  You can’t know how many would have died though from Covid without extreme measures in place.

    Today in the USA:

    -Just over 265,000 CoVID deaths this year

    If you want to know how many in a high-density nation would've died without proper measures in place - just look at the US statistics. This doesn't beg any question.

    More Moderna info out today. Looking at Dec 21 to give to the most vulnerable Americans and still on track for spring for everyone else. 

    11 out of 15,000 got covid with the vaccine with zero severe cases 
    185 out of 15,000 got covid with the placebo with thirty severe cases and 1 death. 

    Efficacy of 94.1% against the virus and most importantly 100% efficacy against severe cases.

    Those numbers are amazing. 
    Definitely the most promising I’ve seen.  I’m really intrigued by the mRNA tech and what the future holds for other diseases.

    Without reading a word of the article, I'd have to assume that people were instructed to just go about their lives like they were already doing (or, rather, how they should have been doing), i.e., keep masking, distancing, etc. and don't get too comfortable because you may be a placebo. In other words, those that got the placebo were not put into more dangerous situations. There'd be all sorts of ethical issues with that study. That death probably would have happened, anyway.

    That said, I suppose that's got to be a tough pill to swallow...that person died and probably would not have if not for, essentially, a coin flip. (Maybe that was your point, now that I think about it)
