YES! Green Bean Casserole is delicious!

What culinary genius dreamt up this puke in a casserole dish to begin with?

Has to be Campbell's, right?  Invent a reason for someone to buy their Cream of SomeYoungGuy Mushroom soup?

Does anyone actually slide that stuff into a pot, warm it up, and eat it?  [You need to add water to "bring it to life?"]

I love mushrooms and imagine a good soup could be made there....but, I am going with Campbell's as the marketing genius behind tricking Americans into this becoming a staple at T-giving.

I'm guessing the marketing is French's. The only other use I have seen from the French's fried onions is to put on top of a burger with pretzel bun and bbq sauce. But that tradition is fairly new compared to GBC.

Also, of the 3 images you posted above, the middle one is accurate. The last one looks like they added water (VERY unnecessarily) to "bring the mushroom soup to life." That one looks terrible.

I think I mentioned early on: double the pepper.

I think I would truly be dead without cream of mushroom soup. It’s one of the only things I ate as a child. And I always added milk, not water, and maybe only half a can.

Heat that shit up and put it over toast, and you’ve got yourself a decent veggie SOS, too.

Damn, now I want some cream of mushroom soup.

You should add milk, not water. It's actually a pretty decent cream of mushroom soup when you do that, for canned.... There are people that use water??

NO! I would prefer this food item be forever removed from the Thanksgiving menu.
Was guessing about the water, I don't eat the stuff myself so have no idea.

Pretty sure I convinced my cousin not to make GBC for Thanksgiving. Just bring green beans; no need to doctor them.

The fact that I don't have to see it or even put some on my plate is the unintended consequence of this awful virus
At least I can be grateful for that.

I've said it before and I'm proud to say it again. GBC for the win!!! It's not really Thanskgiving without a slightly weird, almost gelatinous casserole made by a beloved family member that transforms into a crunchy, savory paradise of flavors.

    Happy Turkey Day!!

My sister made a GBC from scratch a few years ago. It was good but not much different than the normal slop.

Our kids like it so we do it for Thanksgiving but that's about it
