haha, touche. however, what i'm referring to is treating politicians like celebrities. you will never see a trudeau or merkle flag on a vehicle, or people showing up at polling places in the dead of night with guns to make sure every vote is being counted properly. it's insanity.

A few Cubans in Miami and Hispanics In Texas are not the groups that have caused us to get here.  That’s like blaming a cold for the death of an aids patient.  Like yea well sure he had aids but let’s not forget about the cold.  The blame is on the white majority that has the power and sets the agenda, if a few minority people jump on that train they aren’t the problem.  The group that sets the narrative and agenda is. And in america that is largely conservative whites that try to hide their racial antipathy and white supremecist views.

I totally agree with you. The white majority (for now) drives the conservative bus. But the gop is actively reaching out to minorities. So then they have to accept blame as well.
Everyone who voted for him needs to held to blame.

The Latinos 
The Asian voters
The African American voters
The LGBTQ voters
The Pearl Jam "fans"
Etc

They didn’t create him. And the worst part is Trump going away doesn’t remove the conservative white majority and the backwardsness of it all.

The other thing it doesn't remove is the mountains of misinformation being spoonfed and taken like communion.  Trump and the GQP had a decent showing (given all the reasons to vote his ass out) because so many people (you know, the ones who accuse us of being in echo chambers) get their news from angry, biased liars. The thing the Dems have to get a handle on is the whole "socialism" narrative.  Unfortunately that's really difficult to do because 1) the people that are falling for it are in echo chambers and 2) it's too nuanced for most people to consume.

I do think white people being scared and angry about the prospect of not being the overwhelming majority (both in terms of status and numbers) plays a role.  But his reach is beyond only whites.  It's not just whites that he reaches by whining about his (and by extension, their) victimhood. And it's not just whites who buy this socialism narrative. There are definitely white racists who love Trump because they're white racists. And they tend to be the most vocal.  But I think there are decent people who just don't really know anything that you don't hear on Fox News voting for him, too.  And that's the scary part.  How the hell do the Dems, or anyone, reach those people?
