A commentator this morning said it would most likely take Biden the full 4 years to undo the damage the orange one has caused.
I disagree it WILL take 8 or more years. This country CAN NOT take four more years of Trumpisms. What scary times we live in, it's awful I needa shower.

it won't ever recover, because all trump did was expose it and exploit it, he didn't create it. it's always been there.

That is true. Trump is been a useful idiot for those who understood what they could exploit in order to create one party rule. The most hopeful thing I can say about it is that only certain people will become immensely popular even amongst a 40% cult. So if the party is going to continue to be the party of Trump, maybe the next candidate does it capture people the way that Trump did.  If Trump is declared winner, that’s far less likely as most of his base will be cheering a third term. That would probably get either Junior or Ivanka onto the ballot. If Biden somehow takes over, then there’s an outside chance the GQP becomes the GOP.  Unfortunately, yesterday’s events didn’t really send a clear message that it’s time to move on from this nonsense. The House and Senate elections actually validated them quite a bit.

Possibly unpopular thought here... but if Trump wins today/this week..... I think some states should consider a referendum to separate from the USA.

Sounds crazy, I know.  We went through it in Canada in 1995 where the margin for Quebec to separate from Canada was 49.5 to 50.5 (estimate but yes it was that close)

When I look at the elections in America historically and you see the completely obvious divide in principles, morals, lifestyles... I think before folks start mulling a civil war, states should consider creating their own countries.

Personal opinion, if I'm living in say California or New York or some other 'lock' blue states... and I'm seeing the people of the USA vote Trump in for another 4 years... that red white and blue means very little to me.

What does your flag REALLY represent if Trump gets in for another term?

Doesn't sound crazy to me at all, Parksy.  This country is not whole.  Half of it is a sick, toxic place that I have no alliance with whatsoever.  I would be very happy for most of the west to become a separate country and same with much of the east and the north east.

  • If you look back on history we have been a country divided many times.  I don't think the United States is over but I do think that if Trump gets reelected its going to be 20 years until we dig ourselves out of this hole. If Biden wins hopeful that it can happen within 10 years. ( Side Note : could we for once not have to have a democratic president have to come in and clean up a mess that is not their fault yet Fox will most likely blame all deaths from Covid on Biden if he wins )

Honestly I have never been so disgusted in my life with a president ( Born during Carter ) , and really when you thing about it had he handle Covid better he may have unified some people but from the start it was always said he thrives in chaos , just pit people against each other so the focus is off of him.

I was no fan of Bush II at all , at all but after 9/11 he spoke to all of us in America , I listened and cried because a human should be able to show care for all other humans , especially if you are the president.

My hopes ( just got WI ) are looking up but I don't want to jinx anything so I will stop there.

There's a LOT of things to be worked on to make our union more perfect. Here's one thing that appears to be a good step. Nice flag too.

They have that shape, but it's not the battle flag. To be honest, I don't know whether it's derivative of the confederate flag or not.

So, Georgia was using it and dumped it for some weird flag that included the history of flags across the bottom (one of which had the battle flag) so it was on there in tiny form. Like they just couldn't let it go.  Well eventually, they turned it into the current flag. It was kind of an "own the libs" move.

Modeled after the first confederate flag here: https://extras.denverpost.com/flags/

Actually that bottom page discusses a few states with flags that look like the could be derivative of a confederate flag. It seems to feel that Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, and Georgia have at least some confederate inspiration. (And Mississippi, which is now going to be defunct). It mentions NC using a design that's similar to what it used when it seceded and that Tennessee's despite its colors likely is not inspired by any confederate flag.

politics seems to be such a crazy passion with you yanks, much like gun culture. it's ingrained in the identity of so many. and each side is pulling further away from the middle, not towards it. it will take some kind of like jesus-character to come and unite everyone.

Our historical middle was founded on the idea of accepting and reconciling white supremecism and the history of slavery.   I think we need a new center.

I was going to leave this go but I just cant. I hope you’re just messing with us to get a reaction so mission accomplished.  I don’t know your religious beliefs, not my business and not for me to judge, however, I find the comment highly offensive.  If you truly believe that POS is Jesus, thank God I’m not you.

The question should be can america recover from the tyranny of the white majority.   Not likely until white people are no longer the majority.

'It's like the great Donald Trump once said, "Grab her by the pussy."'
or "I'd like to knock the crap out of 'em".

so many presidential quotes to choose from.
I used to love the Letterman bit "Great moments in presidential speeches." They'd show FDR ("All we have to fear..."), JFK ("Ask not what your country could do for you...."), then Bush stumbling over his words. I don't know where you'd start with Trump.

The question should be can america recover from the tyranny of the white majority.   Not likely until white people are no longer the majority.
Elimination of the white race? That thought drives a lot of Team Trump Treason Tax Cheat's supporters. There used be quite a few on here.
