Has anyone ever said, “I sure could use a mocktail right now”?

(Never had one, never will...seems pointless to me.)
How about a good Shirley Temple. I wonder what a bartender would say if I ordered one of those 😂
Damn Shirley! I want a REAL drink named after me. A fine-tasting one, too - none of that overly sweet syrupy nonsense.

Good thing this answer is in the "what's on your mind, right now?" thread rather than "what are you doing, right now?" ;)

^OK, Dimitris, what's going on for you? Why is time and the late 90s on your mind?

Some of those who pride themselves on being “tolerant and accepting” lie through their fucking teeth.

Images and perception. Smoke and mirrors.

I’m getting older, sure...but I’m too damn young to be this jaded.

The New York Times Daily mini crossword has become one of the highlights of my day, these days anyway. I think it's just called The Mini. I think it's the only crossword I've ever completed as I'm more of a Suduko type of puzzle person.

Has anyone tried Ashwagandha?  It’s an herb that’s supposedly beneficial in managing stress, cortisol, anxiety. Two people close to me who have cancer swear by it, though I understand much more study is needed.

Been taking it for a couple weeks and notice absolutely nothing different; just curious if others have any experience with it.

1,000 mg, by YouTherapy (the brand recommended by the two who suggested it). I’m not sure if it’s like other herbs - may work for some and not others, or even not at all.

I’m giving it a month; it’s supposed to take effect after about two weeks.

Losing someone suddenly is so difficult.  I don't know which is harder - that way, or the alternative.

it's really weird actually. he got sick in august. but most of us didn't know until they announced his death. with working remotely, and not working with him directly, i had no contact with him, so there's no way for most of us to know if he was still working or not. we share a director, and for some reason he, against my colleague's and his wife's wishes, kept it from everyone. this fucking asshole didn't give anyone a chance to give him any support, and i certainly hope he knew that we didn't know.

i'm so fucking mad at my director. what possibly could have been the motivation for keeping it from all of us against his wishes? that's fucked up.
