    The name was Godfather, haven’t seen him in a few years. Seems like he got banned frequently and I assumed enough temporary bans eventually turns into a permanent one, but I have no idea for sure.

    My question would be why does anyone care of someone wants a musician to stick to music? So what? Did it ruin your show?
    We’re the biggest whiners and entitled, we complain about everything here. Too many cell phones. Not enough energy in the 10c section. Why did my nose bleed ticket cost the same as a floor ticket? Why were some general sales tickets better than my 10c ticket when I’ve been a member for over a year now! The first encore was too slow. The setlist was better at some random city 3 nights ago. I was stuck on stone side. The merch line was too long. They played Even Flow. I almost wonder if anyone even enjoys going to shows anymore. Let the complainers complain, just enjoy it.

    Going to a Pearl Jam show and complaining about Eddie being political is like living in a college town and complaining about parties.

    Isn’t the reverse equally true? I’ve never been to a Kid Rock or Ted show, but I’m aware of their politics mostly because of all the complaints I hear about it and comments that Ted has apologized for because people were upset. Just like Drew Brees, he gave his point and sure he probably had some people “gushing all over him,” but the backlash was much worse and he apologized for making his statement. Seems what you said applies to almost anyone famous who decides to speak out, some who don’t agree are going to complain.
    There’s a difference between “stick to your job” and “don’t say awful shit”, though. 

    For the subject at hand, I think  it’s almost universally a reaction from right leaners but it would be dense  to deny that the left would utilize just much if our current atmosphere was flipped. I can’t say I’ve ever seen the left use it without a heavy dose of snark.

    Others do, too.  But Eddie does and I would not ask him to cut out “the political stuff” and try to write the Kind of lyrics that I want him to write. He needs to be him to make it good (of course, since I am with him more often than not, this is only an issue in theory).

    Using political lyrics is neither right nor wrong. Or, rather, using and not using political lyrics are both right.

    Of course, I cannot really answer the original question.  But there’s plenty of apolitical stuff out there for people to consume.

    I was getting at its no surprise they are political, listen to their music or what they have publicly told us what is important to them over the years.

    It’s only rock n roll but I like it is a good fun song, but it’s in an entirely different category when it comes to messaging.
