I live on the other side of the country from my parents. 4 or 5 yrs ago i was trying to find a clear copy of David Bowie’s Blackstar. Barnes and Noble exclusive. My local store held a copy for me and then sold it to an employee as i drove there. I called another store, had a person try to find copies. None in my state. Then he said “yeah the only copy showing in our entire system is all the way at so and so. So 2000 miles from you”(An hour from my parents!).Called my dad. My dad left work, drove an hour to a Barnes and Noble, and purchased the very last copy at any Barnes and Noble in America lol.
never selling that thing. My dad is the man.Post edited by cp3iverson on0 -

pjpjpaul said:My original copy of Thriller that the garbage man had to take because I wore it out when I was 3. I may not have it now but it started my music obsession and I aptly said "garbage man took my Beat It!"I still have mine. It's in bad shape though, scratches obviously and I colored the inside "booklet" with markers. I was 10I also have Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA (original copy, I think). That one is in better condtion

never selling that thing. My dad is the man.I still havent forgiven my local Barnes and Noble. An employee knew it was going for $400 and took the copy they had behind the counter with my name on it. They basically told me that word for word.0 -

Hard choice but I guess two of my most irreplaceable records would be an Australian EMI black label copy of the Sex Pistols "Anarchy In The UK" and an original copy of the first Bad Religion EP that I paid $2.50 for back in '83.0

While it has no market value, my copy of Led Zeppelin IV is probably my most prized vinyl. I bought it when I was sixteen and it has definitely been played more than any other album I own- most of those spins being when I was a teenager. It even endured being played backwards a bunch of times in order to hear the supposed Satanic message embedded in Stairway. It survived 4 1/2 years of college and somehow didn't get lost or thrown away when I left it at my parents house for twenty odd years. Over thirty years later I occasionally throw it on and it still sounds great.0

All of this should become moot next month when the Wildflowers box sets come out. I presume it will still be the Bellman mastering and there are options from three records to a Super Deluxe set. I went with the 7 record set. I have been waiting for this project for years. Tom always said it was coming but it never did. He was probably too particular.0 -
Mine would be my Chris Robinson, live in Paris 2LP. Album was set for release and record label went under. Recall on the album but some store employees grabbed a few. They say maybe 30 of these actually made it out and that was back in 2002. I’m sure there are a lot less out there now. Discogs shows 6 people admit to owning it.0
