It is better for the politicians that the people elected to stand up for their interests and in solidarity with the labor force.  Since we don’t have a free market wages aren’t set by the market, but instead by financial institutions and various schemes of inflation. So I would say it is best for people to stand together and demand more.

I don’t think you’re really advocating for free market wages, are you?  How do financial institutions set labor prices?  I worked for a large bank for years, and I’m certain I never did anything with macro wages.

AOC challenges Kamala, now 58 and AOC is 38. Kamala or repub serves 4 years and AOC runs again at 42 with a larger percentage of 18-35 year olds, people of color and old shits like me who didn’t and don’t see her progressive views as “radical.” Scary isn’t it? And sure, a shit ton can happen in the next 12 years but it’s not like she’s going to be POTUS in 2021.

She doesn’t need to be loved by a majority of her party as she’s nipping at their heels. How is it child like to take on and beat a 20+ year incumbent in a primary, tell Bezos to fuck off and stand up for her constituents (never mind Bezo’s obscene wealth and resources-he doesn’t need charity tax breaks/credits), stand up to a repub who called her a fucking bitch and continues to work for her predominantly minority, blue collar, lower class constituency? And yet Bezos’ net worth is $196 billion. I’m sure he could swing selling some of his 54 million shares and not fall into poverty. Let’s give him an Obamaphone and call it a day.

The point is that you missed a generation when discussing Kamala and AOC. 

Point on Bezos is that he has 4% of the vote. I’m also a shareholder and would want Amazon to locate and negotiate the best possible deal.  That’s my expectation as a fractional owner.

My initial entry into this round, which apparently triggered some of you, was a response to a posting of a CNN article. That article tells you what petty argument erupted. NBC said this. She tweeted that. Read the article. 

Again. It's a shame -- those 60 seconds really were lost. She implied in her poem she didn't want to blow it. In fact, the speech itself was quite beautiful. She blew it at 130 in the morning when she decided to respond to the press's stupid reaction to it. 

Did you link to the CNN article? If you did I missed it and if you will, I’ll read it. I read a WaPo recap and don’t see the issue. Guess I wasn’t “triggered?”

I wouldn’t expect Bezos to use his personal money to relocate the company.  I don’t understand the argument. If he wanted to do that, great but nor sure why he would.  Also, these were not warehouse jobs, they were office jobs.  We have two warehouses in Richmond, one 15 minutes north of the city and the other about 30 minutes south.  I would think you would normally put warehouse work outside the city due to both traffic and lower cost of living, similar to call center work.

Not relocate the company, the whole pitting cities and states against each other in a race to the bottom, in the form of tax breaks/credits, to open a regional HQ. He could self fund it, no tax credits/breaks required and not miss a beat. It’s called re-investment. How are the property values in Crystal City and environs? In AOC’s district, chances were, the locals don’t get the jobs and get gentrified out of the neighborhood. Why does someone with 54 million shares of amazon stock and a net worth of $196 billion need a tax break/credit of any kind? IMHO, it’s obscene.

Co-Sign...  If people think AOC is radical they are probably better off reorganizing the Republican Party into a viable conservative option and leaving the left.  AOC and the squad and all the new progressive faces are the future of the party and will eventually be the face of the left.

Yup I was a republican.  I’m not a fan of the entire Dem party.  But the issues of gun control, gay marriage/equality, and more and more Health care are the ones that drive me away from GOP. And then the trump campaign and presidency showed I had no place there.  I’m fine with voting for people I disagree with on policy but not on moral issues.  Obama helped moved me to the Dems, though I was disappointed in his presidency in some ways and actually like Mitt. But the GOP became something very awful once Mitt lost. 

However, if the dem party is going to be the party of Sanders/AOC, I’m not sure how long I’ll stay. I guess it will depend on if I ever have a real alternative.

Which for me brings up the question of why you didn’t stick with your party and try to work to save it’s soul?
