    The reason I think China would like to see the end of Trump is not necessarily because they're pro-Biden, but because they see Trump as dangerously random. I think they know that anyone but Trump will be able to come to agreements, negotiate in good faith, and honor agreements. The same way we'd like countries run by cults of personality to normalize with a rational leader willing to engage in dialog. They don't have to like us but it is helpful if there is a modicum of respect and trust. Otherwise it is impossible to engage in any diplomacy.

    Yeah. "They want Trump to lose" is more reflective of what they're interested in than "They want Biden to win."  They don't give a damn about Biden.
