Did anybody mention "American Hardcore"?  The book was great and the documentary was like part 2. which was good.  No repeating parts.

If you know of any of the bands in there mentioned then it is a must see.

It’s really good. Haven’t watched it in a few years. I have the DVD packed away somewhere.

Signed up for Amazon Prime the other day and have so far watched the L7 doc Pretend We're Dead and Salad Days (Washington DC 1980-1990 scene). Both were great. On my Prime watchlist is Gimme Danger (Stooges) and also ones about The Replacements and the LA thrash metal scene (can't remember name). Some good ones on Prime.

You're welcome. I remember watching this when it came out. It is really good. Anton is crazy and self destructive and it is sad to see someone with that much talent just sabotage their career but the art that came out of all of that is undeniably great in that it reflects his mental state and serves as a reflection of that particular scene and moment in time. The blend of psych, folk, indie rock was cool. Also fun to see a young Peter Hayes of BRMC fame paying his dues with the band. I love the dynamics of part comrodery part loathing that each band had towards each other. They were essentially two sides of the same coin and needed each other to be better but simultaneously envied the other band for their unique abilities.

Watched the Queen + Adam Lambert doc on Netflix the other day. Nothing groundbreaking or anything, but pretty entertaining.

Thanks for the recommendation on Mistaken for Strangers.  I’ve never been a huge National fan, nothing against them, just didn’t know too much of their music, but this was an excellent doc.  I would recommend it for anyone whether you’re a fan of the band or not.

No problem. It is definitely one of the most unique rock docs that I've ever seen. It's a really brilliant idea.
