They're all going to pump in fake crowd noise. Soccer leagues in Europe are doing it. Bogus. This weekend we rock Portland0

Take away what could be the best part about this no fans scenario.
That stinks. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -
Yeah, I meant to mention this might be a thing. Saw this the other day. Seems like just white noise to drown out what the players are saying.

I kinda get the point of pumping in noise. I think Girardi made a good point about if there's no noise all of a sudden the hitter can hear where the catcher's setting up, etc etc.
I feel for anyone with kids in school from kindergarten to, like, 4th or 5th grade. Over that age I think it's easier to digest from a developmental standpoint for kids to learn virtually. Good thing we prioritized plans for restaurants and bars over education.0 -
Yeah, they need to get young kids in school in some way, especially young kids with developmental issues. Whether it is a rotation or what. But yeah, good thing they are concentrating on closing down Passyunk.Jearlpam0925 said:I kinda get the point of pumping in noise. I would like to hear the sounds of an MLB game. I don't think the crowd noise will be that distracting on TV though, at least after a few games.
This is also devastating to new years day plans, potentially our last in the city. This sucks.Post edited by Cliffy6745 on0 -
Passyunk got cancelled like right after they announced it, because no one can do anything "right".
I really do not try to be a pessimist on any of this stuff, just a realist. But seriously - it's gonna get way worse in another month or so.
Just give me one game on the damn moon devoid of sound if need be and I'll be perfectly content.0 -

Hopefully basketball doesn't do that too.www.myspace.com0 -
Oooooh, the hitter can hear where the catcher's setting up! Big fucking deal.Jearlpam0925 said:I kinda get the point of pumping in noise. I think Girardi made a good point about if there's no noise all of a sudden the hitter can hear where the catcher's setting up, etc etc.

There are parks that are close to empty during a regular season anyway.
Fake crowd noise is lame as hell.www.myspace.com0 -
Yeah, like they can't hear that anyway. Ever been to a Marlins game? You can hear the conversations in the dugout there's such little crowd noise. The Juggler said:

The worst thing about it in the soccer games I have watched is that it doesn't follow the game at all. It is literally just white crowd noise that sometimes gets louder and softer, but isn't really aligned with the action. I got used to it, but yeah, I am not a fan.The Juggler said:

it's weird both ways. without any noise is really strange as well. i think it could work if they did a better job of following the flow of the game. ill take either for baseball. just want some semblance of real sports back.Cliffy6745 said:

Broad Street Run is not cancelled it is virtual. Hahaha. Those fucking scums. Taking everyone's money, no refund.
Philadelphia Marathon cancelled but at least I can get a refund if I want. (Will just roll to next year and run a personal marathon on the day of.)

Before knowing how it will be: I don't think I'm going to like FAKE crowd noise.
I'd like to see basketball have no fake crowd noise and let's hear what the players are saying on the court. I know ESPN can show the unedited version on one channel and then show the edited version on another , like they did for The Last Dance.0 -
I weirdly haven't missed sports as much as I anticipated, which is weird especially considering the squad the yankees have. Have had my hands full with the kid and work being insane (no complaints there), now going to the shore, so that has obviously helped distract me. But yeah, will awesome to have it back, even if it is short lived. All I want is next Thursday then whatever.pjhawks said:

So wait what, this year's Broad Street participants aren't getting their money back nor entry into next year's (if it happens)?0

I'm the same way. No kids but have just been super busy with work. Also playing a lot of golf. Catching up on shows I meant to watch but never did. Consumed with the horrible news that gets worse every day. It's a lotCliffy6745 said:

But....yeah I would've thought it would've been way worse than this without team sports. In the fall, if football doesn't happen, that's gonna be super strange. But overall I agree.
I think I'm more excited for the Sixers than Phils or Eagles at this point thoughwww.myspace.com0 -
Yeah not a huge fan of fake crowd noise. Maybe they can bring Th e players family or personnel or something? The Juggler said:
